Fusion 360: How to Convert .STL to a Solid Model in Fusion 360

01:26
NEW VERSION: https://youtu.be/yO6hboYWnfM How to Convert .STL to a Solid Model in Fusion 360 // In this quick tip, I'll show you how to convert an .STL model into a Solid model using the Mesh to bRep tool in Fusion 360. Then, after converting the model I will show you how to merge some of the faces within the Patch mode in Fusion 360. Important to note - Fusion does limit the number of faces that can be converted using the Mesh to bRep tool. If your STL file has an extremely high number of faces...over 10,000+, then you can reduce the number of faces before trying to convert it. If you don't reduce the number of faces your model either won't convert or it will be EXTREMELY slow and you won't be able to work with it anyway. To reduce the number of faces go to the patch environment - model - reduce - then lower the number of mesh faces. Zeplin Demo: Getting Code and Assets (for Developers) (Video)

02:24
Zeplin gives you or your teammates the ability to grab code snippets. This is arguably the most valuable feature of Zeplin. It speeds up development time because you no longer need to write out the CSS (or other code depending on your project type). Along with being able to grab pre-generate code snippets you can also download relevant assets - buttons, icons, and so on. Be sure to communicate with the designer on your team, as they will have to set up the files to correctly export the assets you need. Zeplin will generate multiple sizes per each asset, and you can download all of them into the folder of your choice. For iOS projects, you will receive .png and .pdf assets For Android projects, you will receive .png and .svg assets For Web projects, you will receive .png and .svg assets. You can also choose the naming style of your assets before you download them. Your options are: • Default (however they were named in the source file) • camelCase • snake_case • kebab-case Download Zeplin at https://Zeplin.io Demo Files used in this video: https://dribbble.com/shots/3441531-Travel-Landing-Page-Pack-Freebie) ►SUBSCRIBE for high-quality Fusion 360 tutorials! http://bit.ly/sub-right-now My CAD setup: http://bit.ly/cad-setup MY WEBSITE: www.productdesignonline.com ____________________________________________ 2 FREE MONTHS OF SKILLSHARE: http://bit.ly/skillsharePremium-discount MY FACEBOOK: http://bit.ly/PDO-Facebook MY INSTAGRAM: http://bit.ly/view-my-insta FUSION 360 TRICKS: http://bit.ly/fusion-360-tricks ABOUT ME: I'm Kevin Kennedy, a Product Designer, and Fusion 360 evangelist! Does Fusion 360 require the internet? Offline Mode Explained // If you do not have access to a reliable internet connection or lose internet connection, Fusion 360 has an offline mode. Fusion 360 will automatically go into offline mode in the following cases. — OFFLINE MODE Service maintenance - there are cases where our service maintenance requires us to take Fusion 360 offline for a specific timeframe. This timeframe is communicated through an in-product banner 72 hours before the maintenance is scheduled to happen. Once the maintenance begins, Fusion 360 goes offline. Also, the Job Status icon is changed to, followed by a message saying "we're currently updating our services". Unexpected outage - when we detect an unexpected outage, Fusion 360 will automatically go into offline mode as a fail-safe. Also, the Job Status icon is changed to, followed by a message saying "we're currently updating our services". No internet connection - when it detects that you are not connected to the internet. Also, the Job Status icon is changed to, followed by a message saying "no Internet connection" Toggle to offline - when you manually enter offline mode - see the procedure below. Offline mode is indicated by the changed "Job Status" icon in the upper-right corner. When offline, you cannot perform certain file operations such as upload. Also, you cannot create new folders, branches, merge branches or create milestones. However, you can still continue to work on your designs in offline mode. In the Data Panel, un-cached designs are grayed out whereas cached designs are active, ready for access. You cannot open un-cached items. Note that some un-cached items may have the thumbnails available while others do not. The thumbnails are created when you scroll the project in the Data Panel. You can work offline up to a period of two weeks if needed. After this, Fusion 360 will need to sync back online so that you can stay on the latest version. Zeplin Demo: Exporting from Sketch to Zeplin (Video)

03:26
Sketch mockups can be exported to Zeplin in a few easy steps. Whenever you download the Zeplin Mac app it will pre-install the sketch plugin for you. All you need to do is select the artboards that you would like to export then go to Plugins - Zeplin - Export selected artboards. You will need to save your Sketch file before attempting to export to Zeplin, otherwise, Zeplin will prompt you to save first. While exporting mockups you may want to have certain assets "exportable" in Sketch. This will allow the developer to download them directly from Zeplin, without having to ask you for the assets. It's a good idea to talk with your developer(s) or teammates and decide the workflow that works best for your team. Once your team has an idea of the assets require you will be able to prepare all of the buttons, icons, and so on. You may need to replace design mockups in Zeplin with newer versions. To do this you will need to make sure the mockup has the same name, then when you go to export your mockups be sure that "replace artboards with the same name" is checked. Zeplin will automatically export and replace the mockup. Then, you will be able to see the alerts when you or your teammates make updates or leave commit messages.
