Acupuncture Therapy to Relieve Stress and Sinus Issues | ASMR Triggers

03:32
Many people feel bogged down by stress and can feel the physical impact of stress on their body. Seeing an acupuncturist, such as Lacey Hrtanek at Finish Line Wellness, can be a great way to restore the balance and stability needed to live a healthy, active lifestyle . Here you will see Lacey working on one of the chiropractors in her office who receives chiropractic adjustments as well as acupuncture therapy. Acupuncture stimulates powerful points on the body that can balance your body from within and allow it to heal. Thousands of years of clinical experience using more than 400 points on the body have shown the effectiveness of this healing modality. Whether they work through increasing circulation, stimulating nerves, or releasing endorphin’s remains to be seen, but the centuries of experience have shown how powerful acupuncture is for healing the body naturally. To reach Lacey or any members of the Finish Line team, you can email at [email protected] or give them a call at 952-746-4162. This video may also give you a sensation referred to as AMSR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. ASMR is a phenomenon that uses tingle triggers to initiate a tingling sensation that can be described as brain tingles, head tingles, spine tingle, brain massage and even brain orgasm or head orgasm. There are many types of intentional ASMR including, but not limited to, soft spoken ASMR, whisper ASMR, gentile whisper ASMR, role playing ASMR. Unintentional ASMR is also popular, with categories like medical ASMR, chiropractic ASMR, massage ASMR, salon ASMR, shave ASMR, head massage ASMR, clinical ASMR, scalp massage ASMR, painting ASMR, cooking ASMR, eye exam ASMR, and instructional video ASMR.

Chiropractic Spinal and Neck Adjustment on a Chiropractor (Female Doctor, Male Patient)

02:40
In our latest installment of Chiropractic Adjustment videos, we take a look at chiropractor Dr. James Midboe who gets adjusted by his colleague Dr. Ashley Hartman. Both Drs. are chiropractors at Finish Line Wellness in Savage, MN and they both live the lifestyle they preach getting adjustments multiple times per week. Being a chiropractor can be relatively hard on your body compared to other professions and their bodies can often become unbalanced. It is important that they get adjusted frequently to help them be able to do the physical movements on their patients chiropractors are known for. For more information on Dr. James, Dr. Ashley or Finish Line Wellness, go to www.finishlinewellness.com or send Dr. James an email at [email protected] This video may also give you a sensation referred to as AMSR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Spinal Adjustment: Back Pain Treatment at West End Chiropractic (Female Doctor, Male Patient)

03:07
Wellki. Lifestyle. Health. Community. Plain and simple, your body needs to have a period of recovery following a workout, both to give you the rest you deserve from the energy extended, as well as to repair itself from the beating you just gave it. But is that enough for a full workout recovery, and to counteract the potential long-term effects of all that exercising? Thanks to all the constant motion, impact, and body mechanics of load lifting involved during weight training and other exercise, there's a chance that over a period of time, the structure of your body can be out of alignment. In that event, one of your options, and speaking from experience a GREAT option, is seeking the attention and care of a good, licensed doctor of chiropractic care. I recently took a trip to visit West End Chiropractic with Wellki Chief Editor Nick Nelson. While there, Nick was able to go through an initial client consultation with Dr. Dana Schomberg, getting a full rundown of what a chiropractic appointment is, what a chiropractic adjustment is and what chiropractic care entails -- including the benefits of regular visits to help your body stay fully aligned. Think about all the times, either after grueling workouts or lengthy athletic activities, that you were sore or achy the next day. I'll bet there's a high possibility that you didn't allow yourself full recovery before walking around, heading to work, maybe even exercising or competing again. In the event that you favored one leg with a slight limp, or attempted to 'walk off' the achy joint area, what's happening there is that your entire body is shifting, ever so slightly. The staff of doctors at West End Chiropractic, situated in lovely St. Louis Park, MN, provide a detailed description as to why chiropractic care can resolve any issues associated with these shifts: "The purpose of this procedure is to increase mobility and remove restrictions called subluxations in the joints of the body by applying a controlled and measured force to the joints. Joints of the body become restricted as a result of a single traumatic injury such as whiplash injury or a fall. Subluxations can also result from repetitive activities such as improper lifting and poor posture, over an extended period of time. "Chiropractic Adjustments" or "Spinal Manipulation", as they are commonly known, remove the subluxation from the joint thereby restoring normal mobility and joint position and eliminating the associated pain and discomfort." There's quite a few bones in the human body, and with it comes joints, ligaments, muscles and everything else that holds everything together. And during these slight shifts, your body is coming out of alignment. For your muscles, it's always good to massage out any soreness, but what about your joints and joint connective tissue? Too often when people think of heading to the chiropractor, they may think of getting cracked and twisted out of proportion. In fact, the exact opposite is true. Going through a routine alignment visit is calming, relaxing, and invigorating full-body experience. Look at it more as a great way to recover from all the twists and cracks of NORMAL, daily living. There are very many physicians and researches out there that are starting to view the industry as a safer alternative to medicines; even surgery. I try to make it a point to head in to the chiropractor every month, just to make sure my body is running on all cylinders, and free of any range-of-motion issues. I can tell you from personal experience that seeking the care of a great chiropractor has helped me out a few times in my life. After experiencing back and hip issues after college, the help of a good chiropractor slowly helped ease the pain of joint issues. One day, I simply was walking around, free of pain. It was like the injury was never a part of my life! Likewise when I was experiencing lots of ankle pain, thanks to years and years of athletic experiences -- as well as too often trying to get back on the field before being fully recovered from injury. After chiropractic rehabilitation, I'm currently walking with a normal stride, fully equipped with better strategies for injury prevention -- all learned by making regular chiropractic visits. If you're skeptical at all, or weren't quite sure if chiropractic care is something for you, be sure take a look at the videos either here, or at Wellki's YouTube channel to put your mind at ease -- and get you fast on the road to full-body recovery. Chiropractic Neck and Spinal Adjustment | Patient Also a Chiropractor (Female Patient, Male Doctor)

02:45
Doctors of chiropractic may be experts in joint mobility and alignment, but they're certainly still human -- and in need of regular maintenance adjustments themselves! Here, Dr. James Midboegives one of his fellow doctors an adjustment, as a way of showcasing that the folks at Finish Line Chiropractic are practicing what they preach on a daily basis. Dr. Rachel Theis, D.C. is among the friendly and knowledgable staff at Finish Line that get adjusted about once every week or two by one of their peers. As Dr. James mentions in the video, being a chiropractor is similar to a lot of jobs that require manual labor; being on their feet, and going through the work of giving adjustments nearly all day. Routinely arching over people or bending down for their work can lead to joints becoming slightly out of alignment, and regularly in need of a tune-up with chiropractic care. For more information on Dr. James or Finish Line Wellness, go to www.finishlinewellness.com or send Dr. James an email at [email protected] This video may also give you a sensation referred to as AMSR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Best Ankle Rehabilitation Exercises For Those Recovering From Ankle Injury

11:34
Ankle Rehab As someone who has engaged in exercise and athletic activity for most of my life, I've put quite a few miles on my feet. I'm sure I'm not alone when saying that decades of pounding and abuse have added up to more than a few ankle injuries. The same mantra I'm given by doctors and physical therapists is 'make sure you continue to do your exercises.’ However, what normally happens is people give it a day or two, the ankle feels a bit better, so they don’t continue with their rehab. As we grow older, and the ankles don't recover as quickly as they used to, it’s important to realize now the absolute importance of actually performing those rehab exercises. Chronic discomfort and stiffness in the ankle can certainly be alleviated (nearly eliminated) by following a regular schedule of ankle strengthening activities. Not only will strength and balance return, but flexibility will also begin to improve. The crux is this: strengthening exercises for the ankle joints are not just for injury recovery. Make the exercise routine listed below a part of a regular schedule -- maybe every morning while watching the news, maybe every night before bed, maybe both! The point is to always make sure the ankles are at their strongest, their most balanced, and most flexible. Doing so will prevent most issues that lead to injury.

The Best Knee Joint Exercises To Relieve Pain, Rehab and Recover From Injury

07:21
Whether it's recovering from a twisted knee, an arthroscopic procedure, or even a complete knee replacement, one thing is absolutely certain: the rehabilitation process is nobody's version of fun! For those of you out there that may now be in the rehab process of a knee injury, it's safe to say you've most likely become experts in pain. That's because first comes the initial injury, which sometimes becomes an acute ailment, and can even lead to chronic issues having to do with a specific joint. Having to deal with all of this can be downright awful. Once something like a surgical intervention, or perhaps any type of pain alleviation, takes place, the last thing anybody wants to do is daily exercises. That's especially true if the exercises cause any temporary discomfort to your knee joint. The problem with that is, if you aren't doing the exercises prescribed to you, chances are the pain alleviation may only be temporary. I've talked to a number of physical therapists and other health professionals on the subject of knee joint rehab (specifically replacement surgeries), and the one thing they seem to agree on is just that. In order to get better, fast-track rehab, and prevent any future issues, you just have to do those exercises! The problem with that is...well, actually doing them! Not only are most rehab exercise routines incredibly lengthy, but it's also very similar to working out; it's much easier to skip it, rather than do it. That's why I've singled out the ten best rehab exercises for knee joint recovery! Instead of trying to remember those 20-30 exercises normally prescribed to you, why not just do the ones that will prove to be the most effective? The therapists I've spoken with have agreed that these are the best of the best. Ideally, you should do exactly what your doctor prescribes. But if you were to do anything on a regular basis, do this routine. Drawing the Alphabet - Ankle Rehabilitation Exercise For Recovering From Ankle Injury

Radial and Ulnar Deviation - Physical Exercise For Elbow Injury Rehab

01:06
Elbow Joint Injury You've probably heard of ailments such as Tennis Elbow, or Golfer's Elbow -- overuse injuries that are caused by too much stress on the muscles of the forearm. Add in the fact that most heavy lifters can sometimes experience elbow issues, and you've got a joint that needs quite a bit of attention. This is because beyond dislocations (does happen to the elbow), or fractures (bone breaks), the chronic ailments of the elbow can sometimes go unnoticed, since it's not always as painful as a shoulder, knee, or ankle injury. After suffering an injury to the elbow, or really any other joint, the most important first step is to alleviate the pain, and get rid of any residual swelling or bruising. However, that's merely the first step on the road to recovery. Being pain-free after an injury is what we all strive for, but there's more that's necessary to get back to a full recovery. What's needed is time to regain some of the lost strength and mobility caused by the respective ailment. A lot of damage gets done during strains, sprains, and contusions (bruising), and the joint will be more susceptible to injury if there isn't enough time devoted to exercises. For the purposes of the elbow, there aren't too many different types of exercises to be done to regain strength -- the key here is that there are different stages to recovery. To make sure that you get all of your strength back, and avoid any future complications, follow some of the exercises we feature for the elbow joint. Radial/Ulnar Deviation Exercise Description There are two bones as part of the forearm -- the radius and the ulnar. Most of the muscles involved in any wrist movement will help to strengthen the elbow joint. - For deviation, you are moving your wrist from side to side, palms facing down. - Think of it almost as a waving motion, but only using your hand. Start out just by getting range of motion back, followed by using your other hand to create an opposing force to the movement. - Complete 5-10 repetitions for both deviating inward and outward. - Repeat for 2-3 total sets.

Most likely, you won't have an apparatus like this at home. Luckily though, most commercial gyms offer some type of variation of an entire cable cross or cable pulley machine. Though cables may not provide the same accessory muscle training that free weights can, the important thing to note for this workout is that it's a SAFER workout. Provided you're using weights that work well for you, and you complete the motions of the exercise properly, there's little chance for injury. Easy Physical Exercise Routine For Increased Hip Mobility & Low Back Pain Relief You Can Do At Home

05:05
Probably the trickiest and most frustrating area to injure involves the muscles surrounding the hip area. This is where hip issues and low back pain tend to take up residence. The good news is, if you're looking for a sure-fire way to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and create lasting strength -- you've come to the right place! I mention the hip area being the most frustrating because of one reason; when you injure the hip joint (or, especially, the lower back), it absolutely impedes your daily activities. When you sprain an ankle or twist a knee, you can still use crutches to get around. With shoulder or elbow injuries, you'll hopefully still have your lower body to fall back on. The low back and hip, however, will prevent you from walking, standing, twisting, and most other daily movements. It's frustrating to feel so helpless. Throughout the past couple of months, I've been battling a few injuries to both my lower back and my right hip. As luck would have it, the muscles involved are on the same side! But, once the period of intense, awful, barely-able-to-move pain subsided, I knew I'd be back to normal quite quickly. That's because I familiarized myself with a number of fantastic exercises for that particular area of my body. Once equipped with great movements designed to increase my hip mobility, I was well on my way to 100% again. The important thing to note about the exercise used is, they don't come from some web search on hip exercises. If you try that out yourself, you'll find a laundry list of the most difficult yoga moves on the planet. Sure, those movements may help increase mobility, but they just aren't safe recommendations for those of us on the mend. Instead, what you should opt for is the following routine that I swear by. Even though I'm back to full strength right now, I continue to do this every morning, as well as before bed, in order to maintain strength and flexibility. Just be sure that you're hips and lower back are at a state that you can perform these exercises -- you don't want to do anything while still at the peak of your injury. For this exercise routine for the hips and low back, follow the instructions in the video closely, as some rehab movements are holds for different periods of time. This is a rehab exercise routine to help when coming back from an injury to the lower back, as well as to increase mobility in the hip region. Below is a list of each individual rehab exercise. Runner's Lunge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_Xoes7ESVc Cobra Pose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAaHrMsIWE8&list=UUqrlXqMppLqITR7MNLmoqOA Glute Bridge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKung7CNMho Piriformis Stretch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybZBhc6Ma3w Knee Across The Chest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOlGILgdzOU Lateral Hip Stretch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcUHJUmh-w4 Knee To Chest Hold https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6rzQD2IzGM Only go as deep into the stretch as is comfortable and pain free. Chiropractic Spinal Adjustment On A Mother Who Works On Her Feet | Back & Neck Treatment

06:12
After seeing many different chiropractors for injuries stemming from a car accident long ago, Lacey has been coming in to Finish Line Chiropractic for around three years -- thanks to an overwhelming alleviation of chronic pain symptoms, as well as improved joint mobility in the neck and spine. As a hair stylist, the physical aspect of Lacey's job can sometimes be drastically underestimated. This is especially true given the lack of proper ergonomics, and the forward head posture of standing all day long on shoes that aren't exactly designed for comfort, particularly given the stylistic component of being a hairdresser. As an expert in improving mobility and alleviating stress and pain, Dr. James Midboe worked with Lacey to improve her quality of life -- not just in terms of her own health, but also in some of the other aspects of her life, as featured in some of our previous videos (Labor Inducing Protocol, specifically). Staying current on her adjustments, such as the one seen in the video here, helps Lacey stay healthy, and happy, throughout her work days. For more information on Dr. James or Finish Line Wellness, go to www.finishlinewellness.com or send Dr. James an email at [email protected] Check out more videos from FlexWell: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqrlXqMppLqITR7MNLmoqOA This video may also give you a sensation referred to as AMSR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.

When he started doing CrossFit after retiring from skiing, he was restricted by some of his previous injuries and a mild case of scoliosis. After meeting Dr. James and visiting Finish Line Wellness, he started an adjustment regimen and is now pushing his body to limits which seemed impossible in the past. Dr. Midboe is a 2011 graduate from Northwestern Health Science University, in Bloomington, MN. Best Stretch for Middle Back Pain Relief, Back Injury Rehab & Recovery

01:03
This Standing Mid-Back Reach video is especially good for those in need of back pain relief, those who may have had sciatica treatment, disc herniation treatment, or other spinal treatment. For those in need of back pain treatment and back treatment receivers alike, one of the most annoying spots to feel back pain exists in the middle back region. You know the area -- it's that spot you can't quite reach to itch! Though it may seem hard to find useful stretches to target this area, there are actually some great moves that can help substantially. After a particularly grueling back workout, I happened to wake up with this type of pesky muscle discomfort. Granted, a lot of people do somehow injure themselves this way while actually sleeping (myself included), but middle back stiffness is associated most often with a lack of proper stretching. In my case, it was because of all the pulling exercises I was doing -- tightening up my back muscles through repeated rowing lifts. There are times when I make attempts to loosen those muscles up after I'm done, but after my last workout I just wanted out of the gym. The specific area in question, and the discomfort associated with it, has less to do with the larger trapezius muscle (extending from the back of your head down towards your lumbar spine), and more with the smaller, deeper muscles of the mid back (rhomboids). Because of the deeper aspect of the muscle, and again because of how hard it is to reach, it's difficult to do any self-massaging to make this soreness feel better. This can also help with lower back pain and can be a replacement between your herniated disc treatment, sciatica treatment, low back pain treatment, sacroiliac joint treatment, Thai massage or other cranio-sacral treatment techniques. Bring your hands together by clasping your fingers tightly in front of you. Pull slightly to get your shoulder blades to separate, and move your arms towards the ground. As you feel the stretch in your back, begin to slowly tuck you chin towards your chest to really get deep into the movement. • Hold the stretch for 10-20 seconds, then repeat as many times as desired. http://www.wellki.com/fitness/fitness-trends/4350-stretching-to-target-the-mid-back-muscles For all other exercises in our video library, click on the Exercises Home Page: http://www.wellki.com/fitness/library/exercises/ Wellki.com FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/Wellki TWITTER: https://twitter.com/WellkiHealth

Chiropractic Neck and Spinal Adjustment Of An NFL Cheerleader

07:37
A few of the athletic activities that are hardest on the human body include gymnastics, dance, and cheer -- everything that makes up most of the movements for squad members in many National Football League cheer teams! Fortunately for the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, Dr. James Midboe and Finish Line Wellness are their official chiropractic sponsors! One of Dr. James' cheer patients, Molly, is now in her fifth year as a member of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders (MVC) -- and has been coming in to Finish Line Chiropractic in Savage, MN since 2012. In her sport, Molly suffers a lot of spine and neck alignment issues, thanks to the exaggerated movements of the head and shoulders during a four-hour pro football game. Dr. James has not only been treating members of the MVC, but has also served as an ambassador for chiropractic treatments by giving talks to all members throughout the period of being an official sponsor. The next time you're out at a Vikings game, know that Finish Line Chiropractic is making sure the cheer members are at their healthiest, and happiest, while pumping up the crowd on Sunday! The Executive Straight Razor Shaving Experience by Mustache Jim, Master Barber

30:13
Wellki: Lifestyle. Health. Community. I was looking for a great shave here in the Twin Cities and it didn't take long to stumble upon Mustache Jim and the crew at Gent Cuts and Grooming. Jim, GENT Master Barber, offers a well-rounded selection of sensibilities and style. Keeping a fresh perspective and a classic background, Moustache Jim has been honing his craft for 13 years. Specializing in straight razor shaves, haircuts, and beard trims, Moustache Jim provides the perfect service for special occasions as well as meeting the day to day needs of any occasion. Here, Mustache Jim perfectly executes the Executive Shave. Like a Classic Shave, they begin with two steaming facial towels to soften the beard and open the pores. Once the skin is ready, they wash the face with cleanser to remove any dirt and oils in the skin. They then apply a pre-shave hot oil application, basic lathering and a shave going with the grain of your beard. After a re-lather, they shave against the grain (if preferred). Next is cleansing the face of any excess shaving products with a warm towel and apply Deep Detox Clay mask allowing the mask to dry for 3-8 minutes (depending on skin type). They remove the mask with a clean, warm towel and end the Executive Shave with a cool facial towel and aftershave. Mustache Jim also does a great job explaining how to shave with a straight razor and some of the benefits of shaving with a straight razor. This is not only a truly relaxing experience, it is very healthy for your skin and facial hair. Foot Shortening - Physical Exercise for Ankle Injury Recovery and Rehabilitation

01:55
Intrinsic Exercises These movements will help strengthen the smaller, more intricate muscles of the foot that are located in the toes and forefoot area. Focusing on these smaller balancing muscles is important in keeping the entire ankle strong and mobile. Foot Shortening Exercise Description This one is slightly subtle, and it isn't the easiest to learn. - Start by planting your toes into the ground, and trying to lift the arch of the foot, almost as though a balloon were filling up with air underneath. - This will cause the foot to 'shorten,’ strengthening the muscles around the arch. - Hold the foot in that state for 10 seconds. - Complete five sets of the exercise on one foot. - Switch to the other foot, and repeat.

Often times, men will get shaved at a barbershop not only for the way it makes their face look, but for the way it makes them feel. When done right, a gentleman can feel complete relaxation throughout his face and body. At the Barbersharp in Minneapolis, Master Barber Kelly Sharp does everything in her power to make sure her clients walk away clean shaven and extremely relaxed and refreshed. After a long career in real estate and the downturn of the market, Kelly decided to go back to school to learn how to cut hair, a craft she has always been passionate about. She chose barbering for several reasons: to specialize in haircutting, facial grooming, traditional shaves, and most importantly to preserve a tradition in barbering that is slowly fading into a bygone era. Kelly is most passionate about listening and understanding what each client is looking to achieve in grooming, and connecting with the community to bring people together for the greater good. She opened the Barber Sharp in 2010. *Wellki is a community for individuals seeking to better themselves through dieting, fitness and shared knowledge. Many people get the impression that chiropractic appointments are all about the cracking and popping noises that are associated with the maneuvers performed by the doctor. This can make the idea of performing chiropractic adjustments on young children seem almost unfathomable. As you will see in this video, Dr. Midboe explains the benefits and reasoning behind frequent chiropractic adjustments for children at a young age. Brynlee, his patient in this case suffered from a weak immune system and some emotional distress. Once she began regular visits to Dr. James, she began fighting illness much more effectively and began having a much better attitude. IFBB Professional Bodybuilder Acupuncture With Electrical Current By a Chiropractor | Flexwell

03:27
Dr. Andy Schwert, D.C. demonstrates a unique acupuncture treatment for Casie Shepherd, current pro bodybuilder on the IFBB circuit. Because of the workout volume that Casie goes through working towards an upcoming competition, it's important that there are no structural imbalances in any skeleto-muscular region of her body. The electrolysis treatment featured in this video will allow her to be completely mobile and fluid in both her workout mechanics, but more importantly for her posing practices for when she eventually hits the stage. Casie is currently eight weeks away from competing in the IFBB / NPC Midwest Omaha Pro event, and is coming in to West End Chiropractic routinely to work on her scapular and shoulder mobility, helping to open up the shoulders and back for extra engagement during strength training. As Dr. Andy describes during the video, a high volume of strength training often leads to protracting of the scapula; causes them to rotate outward and upward over the course of repeated workouts and muscle engagement. When that starts to occur, it affects the surrounding muscles' ability to fire optimally, which can in turn affect overall performance and mobility. This is of particular concern to a competitive bodybuilder such as Casie, because full mobility is needed for the best performance during posing on stage. In addition to shoulder work, Dr. Andy directs attention towards the ‘TL Junction,’ the area between the thoracic and lumbar spine. This is another area that takes a heavy amount of stress during strength training, making it imperative to keep perfectly aligned for someone like Casie. Labor Induction Acupuncture, Acupressure and Stress-Relieving Massage Therapy | Childbirth Tips

14:58
Licensed acupuncturist Lacey Hrtanek of Finish Line Acupuncture returns for a video on treatment for labor induction, as well as later on in the video, a demonstration of at-home labor-inducing acupressure massage. The latter would be a treatment that could be done by your partner, or anyone to assist in maintaining a healthy pregnancy, and inducing a calming labor with less anxiety. With labor induction, the acupuncture concept is to target points that stimulate blood flow to the pelvic region, on a woman who is about 40 weeks along in a pregnancy. By stimulating these strong moving points along the legs, arms, and between the eyes, tension is relieved through the treatment; which will allow for a much less arduous labor. This treatment should only be done about 40 weeks in, so as to not disrupt the natural trajectory of a pregnancy. While administering the needles for labor induction, the points are stimulated more deeply in order to create a stronger feeling of relaxation. Later on in the video, Lacey offers a quick teaching session on how to administer acupressure massage therapy for at-home use. This procedure is done without the aid of any acupuncture needles, but using manual pressure at the points where those needles would be administered. This is a perfectly relaxing experience that helps to stimulate and relax all of the major points in the lower body, particularly around the joints. Though the muscle-relaxing response will not be quite as strong as in an acupuncture treatment, acupressure massage is a great way to extend the treatment at home by stimulating the nervous system in a similar way. To reach Lacey or any members of the Finish Line team, you can email at [email protected] or give them a call at 952-746-4162. This video may also give you a sensation referred to as AMSR, or Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. Difficult, Yet Extremely Efficient Chest Workout: Toning Exercises For Building Muscle

06:04
This chest routine is to be implemented as part of a plan that is designed for working the main body parts separately, as opposed to full-body routines during a given day. If you want to really focus deeply on different parts of the body, getting the most out of your workouts, I highly recommend implementing this chest routine as part of your weight loss goals. In regards to this workout, you'll be doing a few different types of push ups. Plyo push ups are just like regular push ups, except you're pushing off a flat bench (or incline bar) with your hands; almost as though you were jumping with the hands. You want to land softly, then explode yourself upwards. Blast off push ups are when you bring your body back into a position similar to a track runner's starting pose. Then explode forward into a plank, and finish with a regular push up. Keys To The Workout: - When performing push ups to failure, that means ABSOLUTE, can't lift yourself off the ground failure. These are performed as your last set of each workout, therefore it's important that you finish strong with a good amount of effort. Don't be surprised or discouraged if you can't do very many -- you should be drained at this point. - Only allow yourself 30-60 seconds of rest between exercises. These are workouts designed to be fast moving, in order to get a cardio/fat burning benefit. Be sure to pay close attention to this timing, because any more time spent diminishes the fat burning aspect of the workout. Between each circuit, you may take one to two minutes of rest to recover, before repeating the entire circuit.

Wrist Flexion For Elbow Injury Rehab

01:31
Wrist Flexion Exercise Description - Without resistance or the use of weights, try to flex the wrist (palms facing down, moving the hand down). - Only go as far as is comfortable in these early stages of recovery. - Once you have a good amount of range of motion, start to incorporate isometric holds by using your other hand to prevent your hand from moving down, as a means of working the elbow flexion muscles against a force. - Complete 5-10 repetitions of the exercise. - Repeat for a total of 2-3 sets.

Heel Raises - Ankle Rehabilitation Exercise For Recovering From Ankle Injury

01:18
Foot Strengthening Exercises Now that you've finished with the more internal muscles, as well as working on ankle flexibility, it's time to move on to creating brute strength in the feet. If you're still recovering from an injury, it's advised that you not continue on to this step just yet. Wait until all pain is gone, because some of these strength movements could be harmful. Heel Raise Description - In a standing position, bring your feet together. - Bring the heel up off the ground and, using the toes as an anchor point. - Lift the heels as high up off the ground as you can. - Then, slowly bring the heels back to the ground. - Perform this exercise for a total of 10-20 reps. - If you have the time, feel free to graduate to the following heel raise alternatives: Single Leg Heel Raises - Perform the same motion, only balancing on just one foot. Elevated Heel Raises - Stand up on a platform or bench, and allow your heels to drop just slightly lower than the usual ground level.

Pelvic Alignment Treatment For Low Back Issues | Chiropractic Neck and Spine Adjustments

11:27
Competitive Olympic weightlifter, CrossFit athlete, and certified level 1 coach lends itself to being in great physical shape -- but on the other hand serving up a high potential for joint issues and injuries! Luckily, however, in the words of Dr. James Midboe, folks who are into CrossFit "work out hard, go about nutrition hard, and REHAB hard." This is certainly true Dr. James' patient featured in this video; Andrew. Diagnosing low back pain, to centrally locate what the major issue was, which turned out to be misalignment of the pelvic bones. What this will begin to cause is rotational issues of the hip joint, as well as the lower back lumbar vertabrae. Since corrective care is a specialty of Finish Line Chiropractic, the solution is starting to engage and increase in range of motion, and starting to open up the pelvic bones and hip joint. From that point, Andrew has not only been able to improve in his training enough to become a certified CrossFit coach, but he's also made astounding progress in the gym by putting on nearly 50 pounds of solid muscle! Feeling great every day doesn't just happen one day, and never re-occur. The fact that Andrew is now at his strongest and most mobile helps to protect his body against most future aches, pains, and mobility issues -- but his status as an athlete who lifts heavy, and often, can sometimes lead to minor issues that need corrective care. In Andrew's words, every time he comes in for an adjustment he feels "like a new man!" The continued care that most receive from Dr. James and his great staff of doctors at Finish Line Wellness will surely have more than just Andrew saying "Thanks for fixing me!"

Red Wing Shoes Boot Care - Shoe Shine Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response

10:25
Wellki. Lifestyle. Health. Community. Founded and still manufactured in Red Wing MN, Red Wing Shoes offer many styles of boots and other footwear that's rugged, stylish, and beautifully hand-crafted. I recently was doing a little remodeling and demolition while wearing my Iron Ranger boots (style 8111/8115). Granted, the Iron Ranger is more of a dress boot, but regardless of that fact, they got a little dusted up and dirty. Since the Iron Rangers look so fabulous when all shined up, I figured it was the perfect time to bring them back to life. Though Red Wing boots last a lifetime, it's important to give them the proper care they deserve. This means either taking them to get cleaned up and shined by a professional - or by following the instruction on the official Red Wing site (here), and expending the energy yourself. A little elbow grease every once in a while will serve you well - as most things done by yourself create a more satisfied sense of accomplishment. For the Iron Rangers - an oiled leather boot - I followed the steps below to get the most out of your footwear. When doing boot restoration, make sure to remove the laces first! 1 - Start off by removing dust and dirt from the boot. I chose to use a dry cloth BEFORE a horsehair brush, just in case there were any fragments that could cause damage to the boot. 2 - Use a stiff bristle, or horsehair brush to clear off any remaining dust 3 - Gently apply a leather conditioner (I used Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam). Allow a few minutes for conditioner to soak into the leather (some people even use a hair drier to REALLY allow the conditioner to go to work). 4 - Remove any excess conditioner with a rag. Using a leather conditioner or cleaner will remove the oils of the boot. 5 - Apply (or re-add) oil to the boots. I used Red Wing Shoes Boot Oil, but you can also use Mink Oil. It really doesn't take much oil to put on a rag, in order to shine up the entire boot. 6 - (optional). Re-add an additional layer of protection, such as Red Wing Leather Protector. The entire process takes between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on how long you want to let the conditioner dry. Once finished, enjoy the good work you put in, and be sure to take care of your footwear often, in order to better preserve your boots. This video can also fall under the category of ASMR. First Time Chiropractic Adjustment Appointment by Dr. Dana (Female Doctor, Male Patient)

10:54
Wellki. Lifestyle. Health. Community. Plain and simple, your body needs to have a period of recovery following a workout, both to give you the rest you deserve from the energy extended, as well as to repair itself from the beating you just gave it. But is that enough to recover, and to counteract the potential long-term effects of all that exercising? Thanks to all the constant motion, impact, and body mechanics of load lifting (weight training) involved during exercise, there's a chance that over a period of time, the structure of your body can be out of alignment. There's quite a few bones in the human body, and with it comes joints, ligaments, muscles and everything else that holds everything together. And during these slight shifts, your body is coming out of alignment. For your muscles, it's always good to massage out any soreness, but what about your joints and joint connective tissue? In that event, one of your options, and speaking from experience a GREAT option, is seeking the attention and care of a good, licensed doctor of chiropractic care. I recently took a trip to West End Chiropractic in lovely St. Louis Park, MN, along with Wellki Chief Editor Nick Nelson. While there, Nick was able to go through an initial client consultation with Dr. Dana Schomberg, getting a full rundown of what chiropractic care entails -- including the benefits of regular visits to help your body stay fully aligned. This video can also fall under the category of ASMR. Straight Leg Raises - Physical Exercise to Help Relieve Joint Pain For Rehabilitation and Recovery

01:24
But if you were to do anything on a regular basis, do exercises like this one. Straight Leg Raise: This will help strengthen the muscles surrounding the knee joint. While lying on your back, lift the leg up of the ground (roughly 6 inches), and hold for 5-10 seconds. Slowly return your leg back to the ground. For the full knee rehabilitation routine, check out the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HI6flmmaAE8

Dorsiflexion and Plantarflexion - Ankle Rehabilitation Exercise For Recovering From Ankle Injury

By putting your ankles through their entire range of motion, you better prepare the feet for any awkward imbalances that may occur during walking or running activities. Dorsi and Plantar Flexion - In the same lying position (which helps take stress off the ankle joint), flex your ankle towards you (dorsiflexion). - Then point it out away from you (plantarflexion). - Hold for just a count during each motion's absolute sticking point. - Repeat for a total of 10 repetitions - Switch to the other foot, and repeat.

Rehab Exercises For Shoulder Rotator Cuff Injury: Wall Push Ups

01:11
The shoulder is arguably the most important joint in the upper body, thanks to the fact that it is the most mobile joint in the body. However, with this greater mobility comes a high risk of injury. Fortunately, as is the case with most parts of the body, there is hope in the form of injury prevention. It must be noted, however, that this information should never be substituted for professional advice. In serious cases, always consult a physician. Connective bands, or cords, attach the four rotator cuff muscles, as well as one bicep muscle. As you can probably tell, that's quite a heavy burden to bear. Therefore, overusing the joint tendon is a lot like wearing down a pair of sneakers. If not properly cared for, the tendon will likewise wear down and become inflamed. Most commonly seen in ball-sport athletes, rotator cuff injuries can often be prevented through exercise band movements and stretches. The inherent tension of the band, as opposed to the dead weight of a dumbbell, help to create quality work for the muscle tendons. For this shoulder exercise in a rotator cuff rehabilitation routine, do the following: Stand about two to three feet away from a wall. Place both hands onto the wall, and come down in a push up motion. Then, slowly push yourself back away from the wall. 8-15 reps of the movement 2-3 sets of each movement Only do as many as is comfortable, because you definitely don't want to push the shoulder too far, to risk further rotator cuff injury. For the full shoulder rotator cuff rehab exercise routine, check out the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZXcCCTTYe4

Strengthen Your Lower Back With These Simple Drills | Dr. Dana of West End Chiropractic

02:04
Those of us with old injuries, who work all day sitting at an office, or just suffer from chronic lower back pain, need a way to both alleviate that pain, and strengthen the surrounding muscles. Dr. Dana of West End Chiropractic describes two separate exercises: the pelvic bridge and the pelvic bridge with leg raise addition. Pelvic Bridge - Lay flat on your back with knees up in the air, and feet flat on the ground. - Lift the hips off the ground about a fists distance up. - Hold for roughly one to two seconds. - Slowly lower the hips back to the ground. - Focus on squeezing the glute muscles to take pressure off the low back, and put the power in the hips. Pelvic Bridge with Leg Kick - Lay flat on your back with knees up in the air, and feet flat on the ground. - Lift the hips off the ground about a fists distance up. - Kick the leg out until the knees are level and the leg is straight. - Hold for a few seconds at the top of the leg kick. - Slowly bring the leg back to the starting position, and repeat as many times as necessary. Exercise Band Resistance Training - Full Body Workout

Wellki: Lifestyle. Health. Community. For a detailed look at this workout, check out our WORKOUTS page: http://www.wellki.com/fitness/library/workouts/item/3-strength-basics-band-workout The focus on this video is strengthening the muscles of the entire body through a safer, lower impact alternative to free weights; exercise bands. The luxury of having bands as opposed to free weights is its safety, particularly concerning potentially harmful forces being placed onto your joints. Another great part of using exercise bands is their difference in whats called the strength curve. Normally on free weights, you can get to a point where you can almost rest the weight for a slight breather. But with bands, the resistance keeps increasing throughout the motion, making it a difficult movement all the way through. Pronation/Supination Exercise Description - If you were to pretend your hand was a frying pan, pronation and supination simply is the action of flipping that pan over, then back again. - This movement serves to strengthen the muscles that attach at the elbow joint. - Initially, simply perform the movement, but when range of motion increases (without pain), you can begin to use very light weights, such as a soup can. - Complete 5-10 repetitions for both pronating and supinating the hand. - Repeat for 2-3 total sets.
