CSS Table Border Tutorial - Better Than HTML Table Borders

CSS Table Border Tutorial - Better Than HTML Table Borders https://youtu.be/WrmjwNIThW0 CSS code from the video: td { border:1px solid green; border-right:none; border-bottom:none; } td:nth-last-child(1) { border-right:1px solid green; } table { border-bottom:1px solid green; } CSS table border sets a border for your tables. You can set a table order right in the HTML as well, but it's not as versatile and doesn't look as good. The options available using table borders is the same as setting borders on any other elements. But adding border's to tables can be a little tricky. By that I mean you have add borders to some table cells and table rows. For example, if you just add border:1px solid black; to all table cells you will have a double border in the internal cells and a single border around the outside. So you have to instead apply border:1px solid block;border-right:none; This will ensure that you don't have double borders, but then there won't be a border on the right side of the table. So you'll have to add border-right to just the last cells on the right of the table. It's a bit of a pain to add borders to table and it takes a bit of work, but it's well worth it. So you have a lot flexibility with table borders. A couple things are important to keep in mind. 1. Proper border order. 2. The different border styles you can apply to each side independently using the same order as in point 1. 3. The ability to add border color to each side independently using the same order as in point 1. That's all there is to it. I hope this video helps you! Border style of an HTML table can be changed by changing the style attribute in a table element. The style of the border is specified in the Cascading Style Sheets. There are a lot of border properties which can be applied to tables to create different border styles of the tables and their cells. Here in this tutorial we will discuss those various styles used in html for table borders. Step 1: Set Standard Border of a Table In order to set a standard border of a table, we set borders in the style attributes and the width of the border as 1 px. The third option lets us specify the color of the border. These three options can be used in html for table borders . Standard borders are 1 px in width and solid black in color. Step 2: Set Border around cells A standard border is a black outline around the table. In order to set a border around a cell of the table, we set the style as a border in the cell separately. The same is the case with the width of the border and the color of the border. The three options can altered for each of the cells separately to create different styles of border. Step 3: Removing Double Lines in a Border If the borders have been set twice, a double line will appear at the border. In order to set a single border, we apply the Cascading Style Sheet's border collapse property in the style attribute of each cell, separately. Step 4: Other Border Properties There are a lot of other properties of table border styles in HTML which can be applied to tables and their cells. Borders can be made curvy and aligned to one side of the table by using these border properties.

CSS Tutorial For Beginners 40 - Borders

06:48
Hey all, in this CSS tutorial for beginners we're going to conclude our discussion of the box model by talking about the border property. Borders can be written in short-hand and in long-hand, much like margin and padding. In this lesson we'll be covering both ways. CSS borders come in may different styles - dashed, dotted, solid, double and more, but some styles require thicker border widths. Anyway, peace out, have fun & keep coding :). 5.1-Changing border color and border style - html5 css3 tutorial

04:33
The CSS border properties allow you to specify the style, width, and color of an element's border. p.dotted {border-style: dotted;} p.dashed {border-style: dashed;} p.solid {border-style: solid;} p.double {border-style: double;} p.groove {border-style: groove;} p.ridge {border-style: ridge;} p.inset {border-style: inset;} p.outset {border-style: outset;} p.none {border-style: none;} p.hidden {border-style: hidden;} p.mix {border-style: dotted dashed solid double;} --------------------------------------------------------------------- Page Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Devewebsite/ المرجو الضغط على الزر لايك لليصلك كل جديد.

The following are the different options available to style this "employee component" Option 1: Specify the following table and td styles in external stylesheet - styles.css table { color: #369; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large; border-collapse: collapse; } td { border: 1px solid black; } Advantages : 1. Visual Studio editor features (Intellisense, Code completion & formatting) are available. 2. Application maintenance is also easy as we only have to change the styles in one place if we need to change them for any reason. Disadvantages : 1. The Stylesheet that contains the styles must be referenced for the component to be reused. 2. Since styles.css is referenced in index.html page, these styles may affect the table and td elements in other components, and you may or may not want this behaviour. Option 2 : Specify the styles inline in the component HTML file as shown below. [table style="color: #369;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:large;border-collapse: collapse;"] [tr] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]First Name[/td] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]{{firstName}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]Last Name[/td] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]{{lastName}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]Gender[/td] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]{{gender}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]Age[/td] [td style="border: 1px solid black;"]{{age}}[/td] [/tr] [/table] Advantages : 1. Visual Studio editor features (Intellisense, Code completion & formatting) are available. 2. Component can be easily reused as the styles are defined inline 3. Styles specified using this approach are local to the component and don't collide with styles used elsewhere in the application. Disadvantages : 1. Application maintenance is difficult. For example, if we want to change the [td] border colour to red we have to change it in several places. Option 3 : Specify the styles in the component html file using [style] tag as shown below [style] table { color: #369; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large; border-collapse: collapse; } td { border: 1px solid black; } [/style] [table] [tr] [td]First Name[/td] [td]{{firstName}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Last Name[/td] [td]{{lastName}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Gender[/td] [td]{{gender}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Age[/td] [td]{{age}}[/td] [/tr] [/table] Advantages : 1. Component can be easily reused as the styles are defined inline with in the component itself 2. Application maintenance is also easy as we only have to change the styles in one place 3. Visual Studio editor features (Intellisense, Code completion & formatting) are available 4. Styles specified using this approach are local to the component and don't collide with styles used elsewhere in the application. Option 4 : Specify the styles in the component TypeScript file using the @component decorator styles property as shown below. Notice the styles property takes an array of strings containing your styles.

CSS Lesson 5 - CSS Borders, Margin and Padding

10:36
CSS Borders: CSS attribute, allow you to completely customize the borders that appear around HTML elements. With HTML, it used to be impossible to place a border around an element, except for the table. Border-style Border-width Border-color Border Styles: The border-style property specifies what kind of border to display. The following values are allowed: dotted  dashed  solid  double  groove  ridge inset  outset  none  hidden  Border-color: You customize the Border colors using css property called border-color. Margins: A margin defines the white space around an HTML element's border. CSS has properties for specifying the margin for each side of an element: margin-top margin-right margin-bottom margin-left All the margin properties can have the following values: auto - the browser calculates the margin length - specifies a margin in px, pt, cm, etc. inherit - specifies that the margin should be inherited from the parent element. CSS Padding:: A padding is the space between an element's border and the content within it. Padding - Individual Sides:- CSS has properties for specifying the padding for each side of an element: padding-top padding-right padding-bottom padding-left All the padding properties can have the following values: length - specifies a padding in px, pt, cm, etc. inherit - specifies that the padding should be inherited from the parent element CSS Height and Width: The Height and width properties are used to set the height and width of an element. Setting the width of a block-level element will prevent it from stretching out to the edges of its container.  max-width:-By using this Css property we can set max width of the element. ankpro ankpro training Asp.net MVC C# C sharp Bangalore Rajajinagar Selenium Coded UI Mobile automation testing Mobile testing JQuery JavaScript .Net

Change Table Appearance with CSS

03:41
Learn how to style tables through this last video of a beginner's guide to HTML and CSS! TRANSCRIPT: So we’re back to this webpage, and a few videos back, I had added a table with popular dog, cat, and rabbit names. So let’s save this and run this to see how it looks so far, and it has a lot of clutter, but down here, we see that we have our table of dog, cat, and rabbit names. I’m actually just going to delete all of this junk. Once we run it again, we see that everything is back to normal. So what I first want to do is, I notice that all of these items are pretty close together and it doesn’t look that nice like that. So let’s change the width of these table headers and table data so that they don’t look smooshed like that to the side. To do this, we’ll have to target both the table head and table data at the same time. So table headers and table data, and then use a comma to separate the two. And we want the width to be a little larger, so let’s go 100 pixels. And save it and run it to see how it looks. Okay, great! That looks a lot better. So, now they’re not as smooshed together. But you’ll see that the headers are automatically aligned in the center while the data is all aligned to the left. We can fix that by going to the table data and setting text align to center. So now you’ll see that it looks a lot better, and it doesn’t look weird like in here. Let’s add some borders to this table. And we want to also get the table head and table data. Let’s go 1 pixel, solid borders, and blue. As you can see, there are now double borders because you put a border around the whole table here, and borders around the headers and the data. So if you don’t want that double border look, you can collapse the border by doing border-collapse: collapse. And now you’ll see that it looks like a normal table. The next thing we’ll do is add some space so that the borders aren’t that close to the content. We’ll have to do that by changing the padding, because the padding is the space between the content and the border. So let’s do that by adding a padding of 10 pixels. And that should give a little more space between the borders and the content like so. Another thing we can do is change the background color, and I want to change the background color of the headers so that they stand out more. Let’s specifically target the headers and put a background color of purple. That actually might make the text look really dark and hard to read, so let’s go with orange instead. And now the headers are more visible and draw more attention. There’s a lot of things you can do to style tables, and what I just showed you was only a little bit of everything you could do. So play around with it a bit, and the possibilities with CSS are practically endless!

CSS Border-Width Property Explained In Detail

04:01
CSS Border-Width Property Explained In Detail https://youtu.be/tlqBm_3lSUc CSS border width allows you to determine the width of a CSS border. This is a pretty cool since adding borders of varying width can to elements can make your website more visually appealing. Another interesting feature in CSS is you can apply borders two all 4 sides of a contain independent of each other. For example, you could have an element that only has a border on the right. Or you could have a solid border on the bottom and dashed border on the left. Or a dotted border on the top that is 4 pixels wide, a solid border on the bottom that is 1 pixel wide and a beveled border on the right that is 10 pixels wide. All that to say, you have a lot flexibility with borders. A couple things are important to keep in mind. 1. Proper border order. 2. The different border styles you can apply to each side independently using the same order as in point 1. 3. The ability to add border color to each side independently using the same order as in point 1. That's all there is to it. I hope this video helps you! ClickFunnels: How to Customize Borders Around Any Element (Using Custom CSS)

11:15
If you need help with a specific issue and want me to personally take a look at your setup, I can help! Check out the 'My Services' section of my blog: https://amarketingessentials.com/my-services/ What an element border looks like: 0:30 Why you need to adjust borders using custom CSS: 2:00 Adding borders in custom CSS: 2:27 Welcome back everyone! In this video, I wanted to show you how you could add borders to any element within ClickFunnels, not just the sections or rows, and then also customize them! Something different that you can use with your affiliate marketing campaigns. Reason why we are using CSS is because you are actually unable to input any borders around individual elements within the ClickFunnels basic menu, and even if you do, you have extremelyyyy limited customization options - only a few border styles, limited pixel width, but any color (at least you have that!). You can also only customize ALL 4 borders, NOT individual borders, which is a really cool customization feature in case you are interested! So, in order for us to insert the border in the first place, we need to first select the element we want a border around, copy the custom CSS element ID, and then paste it into our custom CSS window. We then do the regular CSS tradition, putting our braces right after the element ID, and at the end. In between, we have 4 options we can work on: - border style (such as dotted, dashed, solid, double, groove, ridge, inset, outset, hidden - I recommend you try them all out!!) - border width (the width of the actual border, ranging from 1px onwards) - border color (any color in the rbg spectrum) - border radius (if you want to round your corners, this is the way to do it) We would proceed by adding our values for each of those properties, in the form of 'border-style: solid;' for example if we want to create a solid border. The cool thing about this is that we can customize the way each border side looks by adding additional values right after each other after the properties. The borders go from (top, right, bottom, left), so if I want to create solid bottom and left borders, and dashed top and right, I would say 'border-style: dashed dashed solid solid;' The same concept applies to our other declarations, such as color, width, and radius (radius starting from top left and going clockwise until bottom left). And this is basically how we would adjust every part of our border to our desired level using custom CSS in ClickFunnels! You may have excess margins when creating this border however, since the element itself may be fairly large compared to the actual picture, so make sure to check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzwSpbytHqE&list=PLS46f4aLJ2hNASorSJ04itRrhsnZ00x5u&index=18 to see how you can adjust the margins! INTRODUCTION TO CSS PART 2 Be sure to watch the Intro HTML videos and by part 1 of the Intro to CSS video first. HTML Part 1: https://youtu.be/2hUZxlbcI40 HTML Part 2: https://youtu.be/zRFD0aDtCOE CSS Part 1: https://youtu.be/4_tlZZtgARg VIDEO NOTES Remember the mantra: Everything in CSS is a Box! We'll learn more about the box model in a future video. However, here's a good place to start: https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_boxmodel.asp NOTES ABOUT WIDTH The width of a box (e.g. p, img, h1, etc.) is the sum of: * width property value * left border width property value * left padding property value * right border width property value * right padding property value For example width: 500px; padding: 20px; border: 3px solid red; new width = 500px + 20px + 20px + 3px + 3px = 546px; True value of width is - width + left border + left padding + right padding + right border; BORDER NOTES Borders can be manipulated in many ways. Handling events in AngularJS

07:57
event handling in angularjs angularjs ng click example angularjs ng click event In this video we will discuss how to handle events in AngularJS. Let us understand with an example. Here is what we want to do. 1. Display the list of technologies in a table 2. Provide the ability to ike and dislike a technology 3. Increment the likes and dislikes when the respective buttons are clicked Script.js : In the controller function we have 2 methods to increment likes and dislikes. Both the functions have the technology object that we want to like or dislike as a parameter. var app = angular .module("myModule", []) .controller("myController", function ($scope) { var technologies = [ { name:"C#", likes:0, dislikes:0 }, { name: "ASP.NET", likes: 0, dislikes: 0 }, { name: "SQL", likes: 0, dislikes: 0 }, { name: "AngularJS", likes: 0, dislikes: 0 } ]; $scope.technologies = technologies; $scope.incrementLikes = function (technology) { technology.likes++; }; $scope.incrementDislikes = function (technology) { technology.dislikes++; }; }); HtmlPage1.html : Notice in the html below, we are associating incrementLikes() and incrementDislikes() functions with the respective button. When any of these buttons are clicked, the corresponsing technology object is automatically passed to the function, and the likes or dislikes property is incremented depending on which button is clicked. [!DOCTYPE html] [html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"] [head] [title][/title] [script src="Scripts/angular.min.js"][/script] [script src="Scripts/Script.js"][/script] [link href="Styles.css" rel="stylesheet" /] [/head] [body ng-app="myModule"] [div ng-controller="myController"] [table] [thead] [tr] [th]Name[/th] [th]Likes[/th] [th]Dislikes[/th] [th]Like/Dislike[/th] [/tr] [/thead] [tbody] [tr ng-repeat="technology in technologies"] [td] {{ technology.name }} [/td] [td style="text-align:center"] {{ technology.likes }} [/td] [td style="text-align:center"] {{ technology.dislikes }} [/td] [td] [input type="button" ng-click="incrementLikes(technology)" value="Like" /] [input type="button" ng-click="incrementDislikes(technology)" value="Dislike" /] [/td] [/tr] [/tbody] [/table] [/div] [/body] [/html] Styles.css : Styles for table, td and th elements table { border-collapse: collapse; font-family:Arial; } td { border: 1px solid black; padding: 5px; } th { border: 1px solid black; padding: 5px; text-align: left; } Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/11/handling-events-in-angularjs.html

What are jQuery DOM manipulation methods 2. How to set attribute values using jQuery attr() method 3. How to retrieve attribute values using jQuery attr() method 4. How to set multiple attribute values using jQuery attr() method 5. How to remove an attribute using jQuery removeAttr() method What are jQuery DOM manipulation methods jQuery DOM manipulation methods manipulate the DOM in some manner. The complete list of jQuery DOM manipulation methods can be found at the following link. http://api.jquery.com/category/manipulation/ jQuery attr method is used to set or retrieve attribute values of html elements. Retrieves the title attribute value of the first matching element $('div').attr('title') Example : In this example we have 2 DIV elements. Since attr() function retrieves only the attribute value of first matching element, we only get the title attribute value of the first DIV element. <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { alert($('div').attr('title')); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <div id="div1" title="My DIV1"> DIV 1 </div> <div id="div2" title="My DIV2"> DIV 2 </div> </body> </html> To retrieve the title attribute value of all the matching elements, jQuery each() method can be used. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('div').each(function () { alert($(this).attr('title')); }); }); </script> Sets the title attribute value of all the matching elements to "new div title" $('div').attr('title', 'new div title'); Example : If you want to set the same value for the title attribute of all the elements, then there is no need to loop thru each element. All the div elements in this case will have 'new div title' as the title attribute value. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { // set the same title attribute value for all the DIV elements $('div').attr('title', 'new div title'); // Retrieve and alert the title attribute value of all DIV elements $('div').each(function () { alert($(this).attr('title')); }); }); </script> If you want to set a different value for the title attribute, then you may need to loop thru each element. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { // sets a different title attribute value for each DIV element $('div').each(function (i) { $(this).attr('title', 'div ' + (i + 1) + ' title'); }); // Retrieve and alert the title attribute value of all DIV elements $('div').each(function () { alert($(this).attr('title')); }); }); </script> How to set multiple attribute values : Using a JSON object to set multiple attribute values <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { var config = { 'title': 'New Div Title', 'style': 'border:3px solid red;', 'name': 'My Div' }; $('div').attr(config); var result = ''; $('div').each(function () { result += 'title = ' + $(this).attr('title') + '<br/>'; result += 'style = ' + $(this).attr('style') + '<br/>'; result += 'name = ' + $(this).attr('name') + '<br/><br/>'; }); $('#resultSpan').html(result); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <div id="div1" title="My DIV1"> DIV 1 </div> <br /> <div id="div2" title="My DIV2"> DIV 2 </div> <br /> <span id="resultSpan"> </span> </body> </html> Instead of creating a separate JSON object (config) and then passing it to attr() method, you can create the JSON object inline. $('div').attr({ 'title': 'New Div Title', 'style': 'border:3px solid red;', 'name': 'My Div' });

Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/03/aspnet-textbox-and-javascript.html In this video we will discuss 1. JavaScript focus method 2. JavaScript select method 3. How to count the number of characters as you type in a textbox and display that count in a label control JavaScript focus method : focus() method is used to put the keyboard cursor in a particular textbox when the web page loads so that we can start typing without having to first click in the textbox with the mouse. For example, when a web page with the following HTML and JavaScript is loaded, the keyboard cursor is already in the textbox waiting for the user to type his input. There is no need for the user to first click in the textbox with his mouse. Name : [asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"][/asp:TextBox] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("TextBox1").focus(); [/script] focus() method can be used with most HTML elements. For example, when a web page with the following HTML and JavaScript is loaded, the keyboard focus is set to DropDownList1 control. You can change the Gender value in the DropDownList by pressing ALT + Down Arrow keys simultaneously. Since we are using focus() method there is no need to first click on the DropDownList with the mouse. [table style="border:1px solid black"] [tr] [td]Name[/td] [td][asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"][/asp:TextBox][/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Gender[/td] [td] [asp:DropDownList ID="DropDownList1" runat="server"] [asp:ListItem Text="Male" Value="Male"][/asp:ListItem] [asp:ListItem Text="Female" Value="Female"][/asp:ListItem] [/asp:DropDownList] [/td] [/tr] [/table] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("DropDownList1").focus(); [/script] JavaScript select method : select() method is used to select the contents of a text field, so when you start typing, the new text that you have typed will automatically replace the existing selected text. You can use select() method with textbox and textarea controls. When a web page with the following HTML and JavaScript is loaded, the text in the textarea element is selected and when you start typing, the new text that you typed will replace the existing selected text. [table style="border:1px solid black"] [tr] [td]Name[/td] [td][asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server"][/asp:TextBox][/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Comments[/td] [td] [asp:TextBox ID="TextBox2" TextMode="MultiLine" runat="server" Text="Type your comments here"][/asp:TextBox] [/td] [/tr] [/table] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("TextBox2").select(); [/script] How to count the number of characters as you type in a textbox and display the count in a label control Name : [asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" onkeyup="CountCharacters();"] [/asp:TextBox] [asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server"][/asp:Label] [script type="text/javascript"] function CountCharacters() { document.getElementById("Label1").innerHTML = document.getElementById("TextBox1").value.length + " charactes"; } [/script]

This widget is in interactions category on the jQuery UI website. http://jqueryui.com/draggable/ Consider the following HTML <div id="draggableDiv" class="divClass"> Drag me around </div> .divClass { height: 200px; width: 200px; background-color: red; color: white; display:table-cell; vertical-align:middle; text-align:center; } To make the above div element draggable $('#draggableDiv').draggable(); Some of the useful options to customize the draggable widget axis - Constrains dragging to either x or y axis containment - Constrains dragging to within the bounds of the specified element or region cursor - The CSS style of the cursor during the drag operation opacity - opacity during the drag operation revert - Boolean property that specifies if the element should revert to its start position when dragging stops revertDuration - The duration of the revert animation, in milliseconds snap - Specifies whether the element being dragged should snap to other elements. Value can be boolean or a selector. When set to true, the element will snap to all other draggable elements. When a selector is specified the element being dragged will snap to the element specified by the selector snapTolerance - The distance in pixels between the element being dragged and the element to which to snap to, at which snapping should occur. cancel - Prevents dragging from starting on specified elements Constrains dragging to x axis $('#draggableDiv').draggable({ axis : 'x' }); Constrains dragging to within the bounds of the parent element HTML <div id="containerDiv" style="height:300px; width:300px; border:3px solid black"> <div id="draggableDiv" class="divClass"> Drag me around </div> </div> jQuery $('#draggableDiv').draggable({ containment : 'parent' }); Changes the cursor style to "move" during the drag operation $('#draggableDiv').draggable({ cursor: 'move' }); Changes the opacity to 0.3 during the drag operation $('#draggableDiv').draggable({ opacity : '0.3' }); Reverts the div element to its start position when dragging stops. Revert animation completes in 1000 milli-seconds. $('#draggableDiv').draggable({ revert: true, revertDuration : 1000 }); The following example 1. Snaps the coloured div elements to the div element with thick black border. 2. The snapping occurs as soon as the distance between any of the coloured div element and the div element with thick black border is 50 pixels 3. The cancel option cancels dragging from starting on the div element with thick black border HTML <div id="redDiv" class="divClass" style="background-color: red"> Red Div </div> <div id="greeDiv" class="divClass" style="background-color: green"> Green Div </div> <div id="blueDiv" class="divClass" style="background-color: blue"> Blue Div </div> <div id="brownDiv" class="divClass" style="background-color: brown"> Brown Div </div> <br /> <br /> <div id="snapDiv" style="height: 400px; width: 400px; border: 5px solid black"> </div> Style .divClass { height: 200px; width: 200px; color: white; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; text-align: center; } jQuery $('div').draggable({ snap: '#snapDiv', snapTolerance: 50, cancel : '#snapDiv' });

Let us understand ngFor structural directive with an example. Consider the following array of Employee objects. employees : any[]= [ { code: 'emp101', name: 'Tom', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5500, dateOfBirth: '25/6/1988' }, { code: 'emp102', name: 'Alex', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5700.95, dateOfBirth: '9/6/1982' }, { code: 'emp103', name: 'Mike', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5900, dateOfBirth: '12/8/1979' }, { code: 'emp104', name: 'Mary', gender: 'Female', annualSalary: 6500.826, dateOfBirth: '14/10/1980' }, ]; We want to display these employees in a table on a web page. Step 1 : Add a new TypeScript file to the "employee" folder. Name it employeeList.component.ts. Copy and paste the following code in it. import { Component } from '@angular/core'; @Component({ selector: 'list-employee', templateUrl: 'app/employee/employeeList.component.html', styleUrls: ['app/employee/employeeList.component.css'] }) export class EmployeeListComponent { employees : any[]= [ { code: 'emp101', name: 'Tom', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5500, dateOfBirth: '25/6/1988' }, { code: 'emp102', name: 'Alex', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5700.95, dateOfBirth: '9/6/1982' }, { code: 'emp103', name: 'Mike', gender: 'Male', annualSalary: 5900, dateOfBirth: '12/8/1979' }, { code: 'emp104', name: 'Mary', gender: 'Female', annualSalary: 6500.826, dateOfBirth: '14/10/1980' }, ]; } Step 2 : Add a new HTML page to the "employee" folder. Name it employeeList.component.html. Copy and paste the following code in it. Please note : 1. ngFor is usually used to display an array of items 2. Since ngFor is a structutal directive it is prefixed with * 3. *ngFor='let employee of employees' - In this example 'employee' is called template input variable, which can be accessed by the 4. [tr] element and any of it's child elements. 5. ngIf structural directive displays the row "No employees to display" when employees property does not exist or when there are ZERO employees in the array. [table] [thead] [tr] [th]Code[/th] [th]Name[/th] [th]Gender[/th] [th]Annual Salary[/th] [th]Date of Birth[/th] [/tr] [/thead] [tbody] [tr *ngFor='let employee of employees'] [td]{{employee.code}}[/td] [td]{{employee.name}}[/td] [td]{{employee.gender}}[/td] [td]{{employee.annualSalary}}[/td] [td]{{employee.dateOfBirth}}[/td] [/tr] [tr *ngIf="!employees || employees.length==0"] [td colspan="5"] No employees to display [/td] [/tr] [/tbody] [/table] Step 3 : Add a new StyleSheet to the "employee" folder. Name it employeeList.component.css. Copy and paste the following code in it. table { color: #369; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large; border-collapse: collapse; } td { border: 1px solid #369; padding:5px; } th{ border: 1px solid #369; padding:5px; } Step 4 : In the root module, i.e app.module.ts, import employeeList component and add it to the declarations array as shown below. import { EmployeeListComponent } from './employee/employeeList.component'; @NgModule({ imports: [BrowserModule], declarations: [AppComponent, EmployeeComponent, EmployeeListComponent], bootstrap: [AppComponent] }) export class AppModule { } Step 5 : In the root component, i.e app.component.ts use employeeList component as a directive @Component({ selector: 'my-app', template: `[list-employee][/list-employee] ` }) At this point, run the application and notice the employees are displayed in the table as expected.

AngularJS routeparams example

angularjs parameters from url angularjs url parameters to controller angular access url parameters angularjs http get url parameters pass parameter in angularjs angularjs http get parameters example angularjs http url parameters angularjs retrieve parameters angularjs http get with parameters angularjs $routeparams example how to pass parameters in url in angularjs In this video we will discuss how to pass and retrieve parameters from URL in AngularJS. This is continuation to Part 29. Please watch Part 29 from AngularJS Tutorial before proceeding. Here is what we want to do : When we navigate to /students, the list of student names must be displayed as hyperlinks. When we click on any student name, the respective student details should be displayed. When we click on "Back to Students list" it should take us back to students list page. Here are the steps to achieve this Step 1 : The first step is to add a Web Method to our ASP.NET web service, which will retrieve student by their id. Add the following Web Method in StudentService.asmx.cs [WebMethod] public void GetStudent(int id) { Student student = new Student(); string cs = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["DBCS"].ConnectionString; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(cs)) { SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("Select * from tblStudents where id = @id", con); SqlParameter param = new SqlParameter() { ParameterName = "@id", Value = id }; cmd.Parameters.Add(param); con.Open(); SqlDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); while (rdr.Read()) { student.id = Convert.ToInt32(rdr["Id"]); student.name = rdr["Name"].ToString(); student.gender = rdr["Gender"].ToString(); student.city = rdr["City"].ToString(); } } JavaScriptSerializer js = new JavaScriptSerializer(); Context.Response.Write(js.Serialize(student)); } Step 2 : Change the HTML in students.html partial template as shown below. Notice student name is now wrapped in an anchor tag. This will display student name as a hyperlink. If you click on a student name with id = 1, then we will be redirected to /students/1 [h1]List of Students[/h1] [ul] [li ng-repeat="student in students"] [a href="students/{{student.id}}"] {{student.name}} [/a] [/li] [/ul] Step 3 : Now let's create an angularjs route with parameters. Add the following route in script.js file. Our next step is to create studentDetails.html partial template and studentDetailsController. .when("/students/:id", { templateUrl: "Templates/studentDetails.html", controller: "studentDetailsController" }) Step 4 : Right click on Templates folder in solution explorer and add a new HTMLpage. Name it studentDetails.html. Copy and paste the following HTML. [h1]Student Details[/h1] [table style="border:1px solid black"] [tr] [td]Id[/td] [td]{{student.id}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Name[/td] [td]{{student.name}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]Gender[/td] [td]{{student.gender}}[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]City[/td] [td]{{student.city}}[/td] [/tr] [/table] [h4][a href="students"]Back to Students list[/a][/h4] Step 5 : Add studentDetailsController in script.js which calls GetStudent web method and returns the requested student data. .controller("studentDetailsController", function ($scope, $http, $routeParams) { $http({ url: "StudentService.asmx/GetStudent", method: "get", params: { id: $routeParams.id } }).then(function (response) { $scope.student = response.data; }) }) Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2016/03/angularjs-routeparams-example.html
