Traditional Kung Fu Styles Test - A Commentary

16:09
Traditional Kung Fu styles are very cool and pretty, but many of them lack the sparring and the combat tests. In this compilation, we look at three cases where traditional Kung Fu gets tested. The first two cases are Kung Fu going against a modern combat style of Kung Fu called Sanda 散打 or 散手. The third case is Xingyi (or Tsing yi) used against Karate. Dorian Minor (Mode) examples in Songs- analysis and commentary

15:01
This is the 2nd video of a 4 part minor series where well known tunes are analysed for the purpose of illustrating the unique emotions each different minor scale produces. (the other videos feature harmonic, natural and melodic minors) This ‘song’ approach to learning scales was lacking for me in my earlier musical training. The memorisation of scales was an academic activity associated with exams, not emotions! I want to take the opportunity here of sharing songs I love that use the Dorian minor to such great effect. I hope they will help the music student become acquainted with the sounds this Scale produce in a deeper way than just being black dots on lines! 0:44 - Contrasting Natural with Dorian minors 2:00 - Pick up the Pieces - Average White Band 5:20 -Scarborough Fare- Simon and Garfunkel 7.52 - Bee Gees- Stayin Alive 10:00 - So What- Miles Davis 11.58- I wish - Stevie Wonder Skype Classes- https://www.jazzduets.com/contact "Bee Gees-Stayin’ Alive (Serban Mix)", sound recording administered by: UMG

The LeafyIsHere Clone Community | Commentary Channels

12:53
In this video I'll be talking about leafyishere and his influence on the commentary community, and the general genre of commentary. I'll also be talking about leafy clones (people who copy leafy's style of videos) and showcase some examples of them. I'll be mentioning youtubers like Pyrocynical, memeulous, Imallexx and many more. I'll also be discussing leafy's effect on my videos in the past and in the present. Leafyishere is a previously succesful youtuber, known for making commentary videos and for his crude humour. Leafy's channel took a massive downturn shortly after Idubbbz made a content cop on him, and a few months after that he decided to stop making videos all together because of his dislike of the way youtube works nowadays, as he discussed in his interview with keemstar. MOST INTENSE FIFA COMMENTARY 😬 // If Arabic & Spanish Commentary Style Was Done In English \\

03:10
| MOST INTENSE 3MINS OF FIFA EVER! If Arabic & Spanish Commentary Style Was Done In English | Don't worry folks! I woke up shortly after I fainted :) Speed reading and multitasking skills required for best viewing experience... The last member of my commentary team, Hyper Henry, adds a much needed level of intensity to this match up between Real Madrid and Manchester United in FIFA 17. This isn't like your generic FIFA gameplay video, as I've always done on my channel I try to add something different into the mix and this case I've tried to imitate commentators from languages belonging in other parts of the world such as Arabic and Spanish, who somehow manage to commentate without inhaling any oxygen for 90 minutes. I could only do it for 3, but I consider myself a beginner anyway ;) Also, as usual, only the best moments are shown as I think it's more entertaining and less time consuming that way. ------------------------------------------ Who is JuiceMan Benji? He's the legend that is writing these words that you're reading right now. He's the merchant of the One Two Bang. He can also milk a goat with his elbows. Playing any type of game, sometimes seriously but mostly not to make fun, entertaining and timeless gaming videos for you, which is how the tagline 'Professionally Playing Games Unprofessionally' came into existence. The main goal for JuiceMan Benji is to make people smile and make the world a better place by bringing everyone together with happiness. So come along on his journey to 1 billion subscribers, whoops I mean 1 million subscribers, ah crap I've started writing in first person, damn this doesn't sound as cool anymore... Why did Srila Prabhupada write another commentary?

02:30
Q. Previous Acharyas have already written many commentaries on Bhagavad Gita. Then why did Srila Prabhupada write another commentary? A. The Bhaktivedanta purports as Srila Prabhupada‘s commentary popularly called are based on the commentaries of the previous acaryas. Srila Prabhupada would work from a Bengali translation of the Bhagavatam, with commentaries by twelve acaryas, such as Vishvanatha Cakravarti, Jiva Gosvami, Sanatana Gosvami, Sridhara Svami, Bir Raghava Gosvami, Madhvacarya, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, Bhaktivinoda Thakura. The Bhagavad-gita is dedicated to and follows the commentary of Srila Baladeva Vidyabhushana; the Caitanya-caritamrita purports are summarized from those written by Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati and Bhaktivinoda Thakura. Even if we consider that Prabhupada’s purports are partly translations of previous commentaries, this does not diminish our gratitude for his preaching and giving us access to the thoughts and devotion of the disciplic succession. Once, the devotees were commenting on how quickly Prabhupada was writing. Prabhupada said “Oh, I can finish very quickly, but I have to present it for your understanding. It requires deep thought, very carefully to present”. (Srila Prabhupada-lilamrita) And neither were his purports just static translations of other commentaries, but he struggled to apply the words of the previous acaryas to the present-day mentality of the Westerners. We can imagine how difficult this must have been trying to present the principles of Vedic government, or the position of women in Vedic culture, or even the necessity to avoid sinful life to persons who were addicted to sense gratification and who had no idea what was wrong with it. He saturated his purports with Krishna, and built the groundwork to supply his readers with the cultural language to enable them to enter into the pages of the Bhagavatam. #laxmi

Serious Eats Commentary: Empty Metaphors

05:54
I was reading an article on Serious Eats about how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker. The article itself might be useful for learning that information, but the writing style grated on me and I wanted to make a quick commentary. The overall point I was making related mostly to this line: "So what exactly does churning accomplish? Well, as the ice cream freezes, its water component (milk and eggs are mostly water) has a natural tendency to form into large crystalline structures. Imagine the water molecules as individual blocks of Legos, and the freezer as an overzealous kid who really really wants to build them into a big castle." I feel like metaphors should add to the information being communicated in some way, but in the quoted passage all it does is act as an empty metaphor that reminds us of something fun from our childhood. This seems to be a recent trend, where people will try to make their writing hip and entertaining in ways that seem pretty superficial to me. By all means, make your writing enjoyable to read. But that sort of writing style reminds me of the way adults try to make little kids get into useless and dry information they're having hammered into them in elementary school.

Lord of the Flies: Crash Course Literature 305

11:55
This week, John i s talking about one of his least favorite novels, The Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Lord of the Flies is a novel of ideas, and John doesn't agree with the central idea of the novel, which diminished his enjoyment of the book. The central idea of the book is that everyone has evil in their hearts. Which we don't necessarily agree with. That said, it's a good read, and worth reading. *** Crash Course is on Patreon! Solitary Druid Ritual, 3/4 (with commentary, part 1)

18:33
This ritual is intended to gain spiritual power, increase one's connection with the Holy Ones, receive wisdom from them, and extend blessings to the world as a whole. It does this through the exchange of offerings and blessings. It's written roughly in the style of the druidic group Ár nDraíocht Féin (http://www.adf.org/core/), which draws its inspiration not just from the Celts, but from all of the ancient Indo-European peoples. The centerpiece of the ritual is the blessing and consumption of the Waters of Life. There are the reflections here of such ancient drinks as the Irish ale of sovereignty, the Norse mead of inspiration, the Greek Nekter, the Iranian hom, and the Vedic soma. It is through them that the blessings of the Holy Ones can be conveyed in a physical form. The idea for writing the ritual in the first place came from the solitary ritual of Ian Corrigain's Solitary Druid Liturgy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvjfWmh--3M). The ritual itself was inspired largely by the Japanese Tea Ceremony (http://japanese-tea-ceremony.net/) and the Zoroastrian yasna ritual (http://avesta.org/ritual/rcc4.htm#chap12). I like both for the importance of aesthetics, and the yasna in particular for its intricacy. If you've come to this series other than from the first video, I highly recommend watching that first. Planning lessons: Upper Primary English (Odia commentary)

06:36
A teacher’s planning includes creating resources to help her students practise using English letters and words. This video is one of a series produced by TESS-India to support teachers in developing learner-centred classroom practices. Filmed in primary and secondary schools in India, the aim of the videos is to inspire teachers to experiment with using similar approaches in their own classrooms. The videos are intended to complement the text-based TESS-India materials for teachers and school leaders. However, they may also be viewed independently of these materials. TESS-India (Teacher Education through School-based Support in India) is an Open University, UK led teacher education project that has collaboratively developed a large repository of freely available, adaptable Open Educational Resources (OER) that support national education priorities in India. The resources are accessible in a range of media and languages, for use in multiple initial and continuing teacher development contexts. TESS-India is funded by UK aid from the UK government. You can learn more about the project and view our materials at http://www.tess-india.edu.in/ You can also receive regular updates by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.
