What's your flow? What's your happiness? Hula Hooping is one of the flow arts; creativity and movement collide into a fluid dance. The idea of flow isn't exclusively for hooping. It's in everything. It's in music, art, poetry, science, even love. It can be found in everyday life. But what is flow? It's actually a state of mind. The flow state is the most beautiful place the mind can be! It's like being completely present, yet absent from reality. It's like being free from the past and far from the future. It's like nothing exists but you and your passion. Imagine being totally consumed by your actions. You perform at a level of focus beyond consciousness; everything comes together so fluidly, without even having to think. You lose track of time and in that moment you are 100% yourself. In order to flow, you have to let go, of everything: worry, judgment, fear, inadequacy, perfection, everything! In the flow state, stress, anxiety, and depression can't thrive. Joy, peace, and creativity can flow through you. Flow is freedom in it's truest form. To me, it's the secret to happiness. Instead of worrying waiting and wishing, what if we graced the earth with the truth of who we are and the freedom of living out our purpose. Find your rhythm, find your happiness, find your flow. Live a life that's muzic to your ears! Love, Zoe Joy

Simple, profound truths are the realm of this Buddhist nun. Her message? The gift of happiness truly lies within our own hearts and minds. Gen Kelsang Nyema, exuding a peacefulness that immediately connects with the audience, starts by asking three questions: Are you having a good day? Why? Tomorrow, would you rather have a good day or a bad day? She teaches that we cannot put our happiness at the whim of other people and of circumstances. If we want to be happy, we have to "stop outsourcing our happiness to other people" and cultivate a source of inner peace. What happens next is quite astounding. The whole crowd of 350+ people proceeds to meditate with Nyema. There's a little squirming at first, but as she leads the audience through a calm citation of how to rest the mind, audience members feel a collective relaxation flow into the room and through the people. Fascinating! Refreshing. This talk was part of TEDxGreenville UNZIPPED, held April 11, 2014, at the Kroc Center in Greenville, South Carolina. For more information about Gen Nyema and her co-presenters, please visit http://tedxgreenville.com/2014presenters In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Most of us think we know what would make us happy and that our only problem is getting it. But research in psychology, behavioral economics, and cognitive neuroscience shows that people are not very good at predicting what will make them happy, how happy it will make them, and how long that happiness will last. One reason for this is that our cultures provide us with both wisdom and myth about the true sources of human happiness. Our mothers were right about some things and wrong about others, and science is beginning to reveal which is which.

Have you ever thought if it was possible to always stay happy? Why doesnt money fulfill us? Buying a nicer car or new cell phone? Yes, all this is just temporary happiness and we lose that sensation as it simply goes away with time. How can we improve our health and wellness? Mihaly Csiksgentmihalyi (https://amzn.to/2CDMv3V) The Flow -Discovered that the only way to experience happiness in whatever you are doing is being in that optimal state of Flow. He states “a person can make himself happy, or miserable, regardless of what is actually happening ‘outside’, just by changing the contents of consciousness. One way to know you are in a state of flow is there is no time. Time flies by as you are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter. Your concentration levels are solely focused on what you’re doing and nothing else. You are so immersed in what you’re doing and enjoying it. Its an amazing feeling doing what you love to do. You have no regrets what you did, not thinking ahead and you are simply in the moment! So, how can the flow help with your workouts or overall health? https://amzn.to/2CDMv3V(Flow: By Mihaly Csiksgentmihalyi) Don’t forget to like and subscribe at WatzUp Today! https://www.youtube.com/c/watzuptoday?sub_confirmation=1 Join our mailing list for freebies (audio, video, books, etc): http://www.watzuptoday.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/watzuptoday Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/c/watzuptoday

Registrations are now open again; https://goo.gl/chwjpr Watch next: One Simple Talk That May Change Your Career and Life: https://youtu.be/R-PAfs_4un8 According to Aristotle, what a person wants above everything else is to be happy. Nothing else. He says happiness is a central purpose of human life and a goal in itself. Every other goal we follow, wealth, beauty, family, money, power everything else we seek are only because we think they will make us happy. And in 1960s, an American psychologist, whose name I cannot pronounce but I’ll put it on the screen [Ciksentmihalyi] coined a term he called The Flow. Then he went out to interview over 1,000 people about what made them happy. He found that the common theme was the following; We are most in the “flow” when we are intensely focused on an activity that we choose, which is not under-challenging but nor over-challenging to a degree that we bur n out, it has a clear objective and that it receives immediate feedback. He found that people who are in the “flow” have heightened sense of satisfaction and completely lose track of time. Now, if you are a manager, a good one, you are probably asking yourself right now, how can I get my employees in the flow so you get the best performance out of your team? It really isn’t very difficult right, It’s their choosing, not overwhelming but not underwhelming either, it has clear objectives, and they are able to receive immediate feedback. And actually if you look at the most successful computer games today, you’ll see that they are designed around these parameters. So, in a way today’s most successful game developers are following what that American psychologist whose name I cannot pronounce taught us over almost 60 years ago.

Get the book! http://amzn.to/2l5TbvC Learn how to be happy and create happiness in your life from the concepts and ideas and Martin Seligman’s book “Authentic Happiness”. In this animated book review, we cover the big idea that happiness stems from applying your signature strengths in your daily life. Being happy and living a fulfilled life is simply finding what you’re good at and using it to benefit the world. This new positive psychology from Authentic Happiness can be used in anybody’s life to generate and creative positive and blissful emotions. Hedonistic happiness can be found all over the world, with people finding quick means to an end, but lasting happiness must be created by finding your purpose. This goes the other way too, trying to make someone happy can be very difficult unless you can make them feel they have a certain purpose. Flow State: Can It Bring You Happiness? #CreativeDebate When looking into what brings people happiness psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi found research that led him to believe it was not material wealth but activities that stimulate flow that made people happy. Flow state is a state of consciousness where one's sense of 'doing' seems to disappear. It is formally called transient hypofrontality because it is when areas in the prefrontal cortex slow down. In this creative debate we'll look at whether flow state can bring you happiness. While some believe it does, other believe it can cause harm through addiction. Does flow state exist? Some doubt that it even does due to anecdotal evidence. What do you think? Have you experienced flow? When and how? Does flow make you happy? Share in the comments below and join the conversation. Squiggles make me smile. As those who've been here for a while will know, this is a bit different for me, so please give me your comments, thoughts, insults below. I'm curious to know if little bits of 'motopsychology' would be a welcome inclusion in your life. Tweaks, ideas, adjustments too - plus any ideas for other psychological things that may be worth talking about. This was day two of my trip through Europe - heading from Fontainbleau towards Lyon, right after the one where I was exceptionally cranky and complaining about everything. It's amazing what a bit of squiggly road can do for our emotional state, huh. "Oh look this road has fewer lanes and cars, and more turns, therefore I'm pleased". You'll notice I've disabled monetization on this video because it'd be kinda hypocritical to make a video about flow then put a distracting banner ad in it. As always on Eva, my BMW R1200GS #SpiritOfGS baby, a Drift Ghost S, a Sennheiser lav mic, a helmet, some gloves and a brain. HOW TO BE HAPPY 🎬 SUBSCRIBE FOR DAILY VLOGS! ► http://bit.ly/POPOFF_official 📷 PREVIOUS VLOG ► http://bit.ly/POPOFFvlog64 😍 FOLLOW MY CRAZY LIFE ► http://bit.ly/POPOFF_Instagram VLOG 65 | Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam HOW TO BE HAPPY (Secret to Happiness) To all of you out there that don't go to bed hungry, that get to taste cold clean drinking water, that get to have a hot shower every morning, and that have a roof over their heads. This video is for you. Every morning you wake up you're given 2 choices. 1. To wake up happy and excited to be alive. 2. To be miserable and have a negative outlook on life I use to choose the second one most mornings. I was a spoilt, privileged, very lucky Canadian that grew up with a great life. It wasn't always perfect and I went through shit like everyone else, but overall I had everything I needed to live a happy life. It wasn't until I traveled the world that I changed my attitude. It wasn't until I got to see how people live on the other side of the world that my eyes finally opened to how good I have it. In 1st world countries, we live in this bubble. We have it so good that we come up with things to bitch about because we've never felt what a hard life is truly like. There are people on the other side of the world that literally have nothing. That steak you're having for dinner is a small bowl of rice. That nice cold water from the tap is polluted and will make you very sick if you drink it That hot shower in the morning is a bucket on the side of the road, dish soap and a dirty rag. And that roof over your head is a tin shack. The crazy part is these people are the happiest people I've ever met in my life. The only thing you need to do to be happy is appreciate that you're alive. Appreciate that you're breathing right now and have internet to watch this video. After this everything else doesn't seem to bother you anymore. You have no need to be miserable when you wake up because you're just happy to be human. Happiness is all based on our attitudes and it's incredibly difficult to change our attitudes when life is so freakin good. It isn't until you get the opportunity to see how the rest of the world lives to truly understand how easy it is to be happy with what you have. When you wake up tomorrow spend a couple minutes in bed meditating on how good your life is and focus on the positives, not all the negatives.
