From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

WHAT I BOUGHT WHILST LUXURY SHOPPING IN PARIS – INCLUDES ITEMS FROM THE CHANEL BOUTIQUE ON RUE CAMBON (CHANEL BOY + AW17 BOOTS + BELT UNBOXING) Join me in this Paris Chanel Haul & Unboxing where I show you the items I bought whilst away. I also talk about the cost of things in Paris (from food to products in stores). Due to the weak Pound, the prices of things were generally really high. If you are visiting from the UK you may wish to bear this in mind. TBH, most things can be bought in London/Manchester etc, so better to save and buy on home ground! I also share some miracle anti aging sleep masks that I stocked-up on from Sephora – these masks are VERY effective at keeping your skin plumped and refreshed. Artist: https://www.instagram.com/nastya_kosyanova/ http://nastyakosyanova.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From cute daily outfits to stunning ball gowns, Disney princesses have always been the main fashion inspiration to little girls all around the world. While we nostalgically dream of puffy dresses and glass slippers, we have to admit – they are pretty old-fashioned and wouldn’t make it onto a modern runway or the cover of a fashion magazine. What brands and clothes would Disney princesses choose if they lived in modern times? Russian artist Anastasia Kosyanova knows the answer to this question and shares it with all fashionistas worldwide. One thing is sure, befitting a true princess, these girls would definitely go on haute couture shopping. From Prada to Versace, our favorite princesses certainly know their worth and are ready to make a fashion statement. Based in Yessentuki, Anastasia discovered her talent for drawing and fashion when she was a little girl, so at the age of 17, she began Costume Design studies at university. Now, at 28, in addition to her job as a fashion illustrator, she pampers her 78,000 followers on Instagram with stylish artworks. Anastasia knows all about style, trends and brands which combined with admiration for Disney princesses, results in a glamorous Vogue-worthy collection. These Disney fashionistas can teach you a thing or two about rocking the best street outfits, so look closely and enjoy a free fashion consultation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/c/DailyFunFacts Note ▶ ✅ I do not own the image or the music in my video. Alex Riley thinks he's immune to brands. When it comes to fashion, technology and food brands he just goes for the cheapest and what works for him. He's convinced he's not seduced by the advertising, celebrity endorsements and hype which surrounds the big global brands. So how did that pair of Adidas trainers get in his wardrobe? And how did that can of Heinz Baked Beans make it into his shopping trolley? And why does he have a Nokia mobile phone in his pocket rather than any other make? With the help of marketeers, brain scientists and exclusive access to the world of the superbrands Alex sets out to find out why we buy them, trust them, even idolise them. Top 10 Richest Fashion Brands of All Time: Levi, Dior, H&M or Louis Vuitton? Thanks to you and millions of label-loving people, fashion is big business. According to Statista, the U.S. apparel market is the biggest in the world, accounting for 28% of the global trade, or $331 billion. 10. Levi Strauss: worth $4.67 billion Rounding up our list is the inventor of jeans. Levi’s is still going strong despite challenges from upstart fashion labels. Levi’s company registers annual revenues of around $5 billion, propped up mainly by the popularity of its ‘shrink-to-fit’ 501s. It’s been the favorite of mods, rockers, hippies, skinheads, X-Y generations, and now, the millennials. 9. Coach: worth $4.76 billion It’s popular among fashionistas and people who love showing off their wealth through luxury items like Coach, which was founded in 1941. It’s the favorite of celebrities like Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss for its durable and elegant handbags and wallets, among others. 8. Phillips-Van Heusen: worth $6.04 billion If the name is not familiar, try these: Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and, of course, Van Heusen. The company owns the three popular brands after buying off Calvin Klein in 2002 and Tommy Hilfiger in 2010. The company introduced the world’s first self-folding collar in 1919 and, today, it’s known for high-profile campaigns like David Beckham’s endorsements. The company also supplies neckties for DKNY and Ted Baker. 7. Estée Lauder: worth $9.71 billion The company is one of the first fashion labels to offer a wide selection of items, from clothing to perfumes, makeup and skincare. Behind the label are 40,000 employees that keep churning out millions of products to give Estée Lauder a whopping $10 billion gross sales in 2013 alone. The signature also owns luxury cosmetics, such as, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, M.A.C., and Jo Malone. 6. Richemont: worth $11.83 billion Relatively young, Richemont was founded in the eighties selling luxury watches, jewelry, clothing, and leather goods. The Swiss company owns through acquisitions some of the world’s most luxurious fashion brands, such as, Baume & Mercier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Piaget, and Montblanc. Likewise, it is behind the Cartier brand, dubbed the “jewelers of kings and king of jewelries” by the king of England, and the French Chloé. 5. Christian Dior: worth $11.91 billion It’s one of the top runway brands that produces a wide selection of both haute couture and off-the-rack clothing. Christian Dior is popular for its stylish perfumes and cosmetics, although it also sells luxury watches and jewelries. The French fashion house first gained fame for its shapes and silhouettes, creating voluptuous styles as opposed to the boxy shapes in post-war Europe. Today, the femme fatale-inspired House of Dior also caters to men through its Dior Homme division and children via Baby Dior. 4. The Gap: worth $15.65 billion One of the iconic fashion brands, The Gap attempted to rebrand its logo in 2010 only to be cowed by loyal customers to bring the old blue box back. The signature, popular among the younger set, was originally an exclusive retailer for Levi’s until the shop started to sell its own upscale jeans at the expense of Levi’s, seen by many as a “mature” denim brand worn by someone else’s father. Fashion is the function of youth, which makes The Gap richer than Levi’s. The company also owns Banana Republic and Old Navy brands. 3. Kering: worth $15.65 billion The signature sells luxury goods and sporting goods, including majority shares in Gucci, Saint Laurent and Sergio Rossi brands for fashion, and Puma, Cobra Golf, and Volcom for sports. Interestingly, its French founder, Francois Pinault, started the company as far removed from anything fashionable as possible, dabbling in wood trading and electrical materials. 2. H&M: worth $18.82 billion The Swedish retail fashion label is a high-street favorite sold in 53 countries that made billions selling “disposable fashion,” that is, it continuously updates its designs to project a trend-setter look. If you haven’t known yet, the ‘H’ stands for Hennes, Swedish “for her” and the ‘M’ means Mauritz, the name of the brand’s first retailer. H&M appeals to both haute-couture and off-the-rack markets so well that it made it to our number two place of the richest fashion labels ever. 1. LVMH: worth $37.14 billion It’s not by chance that the Louis Vuitton logo is set in gold, a color associated with luxury and wealth. The richest fashion label leaves its competitors in the dust, its value nearly twice that of its nearest contender. Louis Vuitton, in fact, is one of Forbes’ ten most valuable brands in the world last year, selling clothing, jewelry, luggage and perfume. But Christian Dior is not complaining; it’s the main holding company for LVMH with 40.9% of shares.

We’d all love to be wearing the high-end fashion brands, but most of us just can’t afford it, and perhaps after hearing some of the stories today, you might feel a little better about not being able to afford it. Shocking facts about luxury brands will be a mix of both amazing and almost unbelievable stories about some very well-known brands. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr Watch our "Evidence That Aliens HAVE Visited Earth " video here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL227eb9FSI Watch our "CRAZY Ideas That Actually Worked!" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0n2wEAiOcg Watch our UNBELIEVABLE Items Found After Tsunamis !" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNNLwdBI7Gk 8 - Thinking outside the box… Chip Wilson is the founder of Lululemon, a staple for Canadian college students and yogis! The brand is always growing and expanding, and Wilson has been known for his rather unusual ideas. He is said to believe in objectivism, and that we should all be pursuing self-interest. He believed that birth control would lead to divorce as it gave women the power over men. He used 3 L’s in his brand name because he thought it would be funny to hear the Japanese struggling to pronounce it. He believes that child labour isn’t all bad and that it least it brings in some money for struggling families. It’s also been said that he believed that if his employees were ill, or having a hard time at life, it was entirely their own fault. He would ask them weird questions, make them eavesdrop and go on bizarre retreats. Fortunately, he is no longer CEO, but he is still the chairman! The brand got into hot water in 2007 with their Vitasea collection, which claimed that because the clothing line was made using seaweed fiber, the seaweed would be absorbed by the skin and pass on amino acids and vitamins. The Textile Labelling Act put a stop to that claim, and they had to relabel the entire range. More problems in 2013 occurred when they tried to cut costs and made their pants too sheer, leaving some customers in highly embarrassing situations. 7 - Stamp of approval… Not everyone can be an Haute Couture designer. In order to make the cut, designers have to be approved by the Chamber of Syndical, which is the governing body of fashion in Paris. The rules and regulations are extremely strict, and there are only 14 that have been approved, which include Givenchy, Christian Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier. Surprisingly, Giorgio Armani, remain unapproved. 6 - World’s First… G-Star Raw is a Dutch designer clothing company that was founded in 1989 by Jos can Tilburg. It’s this company that became the first in the world to make denim from recycled ocean plastic! They had Pharrell Williams on board with the concept when they introduced "RAW for the Oceans” in 2014. 5 - Jack of all trades… A name very familiar to the fashion industry is Karl Lagerfeld. He has his own name brand, designs for Chanel, is the director of Fendi and has collaborated with many well-known brands including H&M. The H7M collaboration was exceptionally popular, but it was the first and the last time he would do work for H&M. Why is that? He was so angry that the clothing was made available to size 16 as he only wants his clothing worn by glamorous, model type girls. Kind of odd, because he was there when all the patterns were being cut and put together. H&M demanded a public apology from Lagerfeld, but whether that took place, we’re none the wiser. 4 - Ashes to ashes… This is not our first fire story today, and I’ll share another with you shortly. Any Louis Vuitton products that are not sold are returned to the factory in France and burnt. They do that to maintain the value of the brand’s products. 3 - Each one is a masterpiece… Judith Leiber is the handbag designer who brought you the Minaudière, although Wiki gives credit to Van Cleef & Arpels, who allegedly saw Florence Gould tossing smaller items into a tin box on an outing in 1934 and went on to design the mini purse. Judith Leiber is said to be buying back all of her little purses and displaying them in her own museum. Minaudière’s are small handbags made of a stiff material, often encrusted with jewels and pretty finishings. This brand also comes in intriguing statement designs, like a watermelon or pineapple! 2 - Where there’s smoke… We briefly mentioned about Louis Vuitton products being burnt earlier, and it seems they’re not the only ones. Burberry have been doing the same thing and were recently exposed for burning $116 million worth of product. It’s said to be a common practice in the industry, done to retain the brands exclusivity. Burberry shareholders were not happy about this and said they and others “deserve to be given the opportunity to purchase products at slashed prices.” 1...

Among Zagreb's fashion stores, perhaps the most popular ones are the famous international brands - such as the Italian giants Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Liu-Jo. And you don't even have to walk far to find them as they're all in the city center and next door to each other.

We all do! That's why it's frustrating to buy a brand and find out the quality sucks! Case in point? Alpha's Hugo Boss tux. In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro talks about the flip-side when the brand exceeds expectation with price and quality! 1. Johnson Murphy - quality sneakers to dress shoes that are always affordable 2. Adidas - casual footwear that features craftsmanship, material, quality, construction with a price that crushes Nike 3. Levi's - denim all day long! 4. Alternative Apparel - this company rises to the top in the realm of Uniqlo, American Apparel, H&M, and Forever 21. Their fabrics and construction are better and last longer. 5. Tani USA - their underwear is a different level. The fabric is the softest you'll ever experience. Once you try them, you will understand. They range from SilkCut to LuxLine with varying colors and styles. They are sexy and you will never find a high quality underwear brand at a better price. 6. J. Crew Outlet - great quality as an outlet 7. Suitsupply - compared to the mall and high end suit stores is better - the fabric, cut, styling, functionality better AND a more affordable price 8. Seiko - high end brand that is affordable (all price levels) 9. Ray Ban - are just as good as Tom Ford and Tom Brown 10. Tiege Hanley - uncomplicated skincare for men
