Dead Sea drying up IGEO TV]
The Dead Sea dries, lowering its level at a speed of 0.8-1.2 m per year. The reasons for this phenomenon has been accentuated in recent years are mainly the lack of rainfall and high temperatures and population growth, which brings the flow diversion of the Jordan River with the creation of aqueducts and reservoirs, like the National Aqueduct of Israel. This has led to the creation of wells on the shores of the Dead Sea and the lowering of its level (de-394m in 1960 to -423 in 2012), reducing its area a third of the original. The shuffling solution for this phenomenon is the creation of the Peace Canal, which would provide the necessary water from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea, measuring 180 miles long and 2 meters high. If it will not put any remedy, it is predicted that in 39 years it can dry completely. http://igeo.tv/ Watch Video Syria, International Armed Conflict: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RzvCYF1eT8 Igeo TV en español: ver videos, agencia de noticias y venta de metraje en: http://www.youtube.com/user/igeotv

Its total area is 970,000 square miles, and its greatest depth is located off the coast of Greece, where it is around 16,800 feet deep. Because of the Mediterranean's large size and central location, it borders 21 countries on three continents. Europe has the most nations with coastlines along the Mediterranean Sea.

My first time Spearfishing in the Mediterranean Sea - PONZA, ITALY!
My good friend from Polosub, Giuliano Tagliacozzo invited me to Blucamp 2018 to go spearfishing on the island of Ponza off the west coast fo Italy for a week with over 30 Italian divers. Of course I jumped at the opportunity to finally go spearfishing in the Mediterranean. I never anticipated it would be as difficult as it was. The fish or pesce are extremely shy and very smart. The type of spearfishing here was unlike anything I had ever experienced... Plenty of Catch and Cook in this vlog with authentic Italian hospitality. ANSE INTENDANCE, SEYCHELLES This well-known wild beach is located in the south of Mahé, the largest Seychelles island. Framed on each side by incredible granite formations and backed by lush jungle, the breathtaking, white sandy beach ranks among the island’s most beautiful spots. And many people say is the most beautiful spot in the world!! Complete with turquoise waters, the scenery at Anse Intendance looks like something out of a picture book. 7. SIESTA KEY, FLORIDA While Florida is well-known for its array of beautiful beaches, the Keys are, as one native Floridian told me, “something special.” Located off the southwest coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico, the island of Siesta Key is known to host three of the state’s finest beaches - Siesta Beach, Turtle Beach, and Crescent Beach. 6. RABBIT BEACH, ITALY Rabbit Beach is a small, secluded nature reserve located on tiny Rabbit Island, next door to the Italian island of Lampedusa, and part of an archipelago known as the Pelagie Islands. This remote set of islands is located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Sicily and 100 miles from Italy’s mainland. The beach is not easy to get to - it’s only accessible by boat - but based on the praise it receives, it’s well worth the trip. 5. GRACE BAY BEACH, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS The pristine beach at Grace Bay, located on the northeast coast of Providenciales, is the hallmark of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Grace Bay is part of the Princess Alexandra National Park and lies between two other beaches - Leeward Beach, to the east, and The Bight Beach, to the west. In total, the three beaches occupy around seven miles of coastline. 4. HORSESHOE BAY BEACH, BERMUDA Located on the south shore of Bermuda in Southampton Parish, Horseshoe Bay Beach is famous for its translucent blue waters and its quarter-mile, curved stretch of powdery, pale pink sand. TripAdvisor reviewer KSEddy describes it as a “crescent-shaped slice of beach heaven.” Who wouldn’t want to go there?? 3. MAKENA BEACH, MAUI No “best beach” list out there would be complete without a Hawaiian paradise! The Hawaiian Islands are home to so many breathtaking beaches, it’s impossible to choose which one is truly the “best.” We’ve narrowed this difficult decision down to Maui’s Makena Beach. Also known as Big Beach, it’s favored by locals and tourists alike, primarily for its stunning views. 2. NAVAGIO, GREECE This crescent-shaped beach is located on the Greek island of Zakynthos, in the Iberian Sea, and is only accessible by boat - a service that has become increasingly available as the destination gains popularity so don’t worry! The focal point of the beach is the weathered hull of a freighter that ran aground in the ‘80s, and which now sits in the bone-white sand, earning Navagio the nickname of Shipwreck Beach. 1. BAIA DO SANCHO, BRAZIL It takes determination to get to Baia do Sancho, a secluded beach located on the small Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha. Along with a few others on today’s list, it’s one of TripAdvisor’s highest-rated beaches in the world and held the number one place for several years. Why Istanbul Is The Most Strategically Important City In The World
Istanbul is the most strategically important city in the world. It's located on one of the busiest waterways in the world, the Bosporus straight, which links the Black Sea with the Mediterranean, and a land route between Europe and Asia. Notes about the names of Istanbul: During the Ottoman Empire, the people of the city would call it Istanbul, while the government still referred to the city as the Turkish variant of Constantinople. The city's official name was not changed to Istanbul until Turkey became a republic. Byzantium was refereed to as the New Rome until after emperor Constantine's death, when it became Constantinople. The Mediterranean Port City - Alexandria, Egypt
Alexandria, Egypt - The Mediterranean port city in Egypt that was once the home for the old damaged lighthouse which was located in the same place where Qaitbay citadel now stands. Alexandria (known in Arabic as الأسكندرية) is considered the second biggest city in Egypt, coming directly after the capital, Cairo. Being placed on the Mediterranean sea and in the north central part of the country, Alexandria is important as a tourist destination and attraction, and also because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez; so it is important for both locals and foreigners. The history of Alexandria is the main reason behind attracting tourists in the meantime. The name Alexandria came from Alexander the Great who founded it in the ancient times. The lighthouse of Alexandria was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world until it was destroyed by the attackers. The Bibliotheca Alexandria is not only a modern attraction but it was one of the largest in the ancient world until it was replaced with this modern one. The Necropolis of Alexandria was also one of the seven wonders of the middle ages. Alexandria might not be the capital of Egypt but it was once considered the second powerful city coming after Rome. This written history made Alexandria one of the cities that tourists want to visit after passing by Cairo, and it is important to say that it carries some good attractions that say a little bit about the past. Apart from the Alexandria fish dinner by the sea or the ice-cream while walking by the beach, there are some important historical destinations that one should visit to know this city more. The old buildings and the walks through the old streets with the salty breeze is definitely beautiful, but what about knowing more about this city's history? From the most famous landmarks of this city, Qaitbay citadel stands at the top and this not only goes back to the magnificent views one will see along with receiving a good sea breeze, but it is also one historical place were the old lighthouse was once located before it was damaged by attackers during the wars (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TypQ9NcNE00). Coming directly after the Qaitbay citadel, Bibliotheca Alexandria is the second important landmark of this city. The library of Alexandria was found since the time of Alexander and it was one of the biggest in the ancient world, but it then faced some restorations and was transformed into the modern library that people visit these days. Another famous attraction in this city is Alexandria National Museum which tells the story of Alexandria to those who come across it through the different artifacts that it carries and which most of them came from other museums in Egypt. This museum is housed in the old Al-Saad Bassili Palaca, who was one of the wealthiest wood merchants in Alexandria. Of course, Alexandria doesn't come fully on the sea shore, there are still inside streets that carry much of the history that one would want to know more about when it comes to this old city. Qaitbay citadel and the library of Alexandria are placed on the sea, but most of the other museums are not. These are the most famous landmarks found in Alexandria but are not considered the only options, so for those willing to go to Alexandria, Egypt, you could also visit the Greco-Roman Museum, the aquarium of Alexandria - which is just minutes away from the citadel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXcc6v4C_lI), the Royal Jewelry Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Montaza Palace and garden, Shalalat Gardens, and Alexandria Opera House. Spending a couple of days in Alexandria will definitely be filled with places to visit and historical areas to come across, and you will even get the chance to take a dip in the sea. If you want more of a summer place that could offer you a good beach and at the same time some silence away from all the hassle of the city, then heading to the North Coast, which is only about an hour or less by the car, will be always considered a good idea to think about (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atJfRWSR3lI). Egypt in general is a good country to visit for all the history that it carries, you might find some negative points about the place, such as not caring much about the cleanliness of the streets, but you will come back with a really good amount of information, keeping in mind that due to the economic problems, it is considered an affordable country to spend a couple of days in. At the end, who would not feel excited about the idea of visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlsFcP3EV0k) or going through the caves of the Qaitbay citadel that will always take him/her to the sea at the end? Almost nobody and that is exactly the reason we recommend visiting Alexandria and Egypt in general. Just put down your plan and we are going to help you with suggesting those famous landmarks and historical places which you are going to enjoy in Egypt as a whole.

Costa Atlantica, Costa Cruises, Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea
The Aegean Sea is an elongated embayment of the Mediterranean Sea located between the Greek and Anatolian peninsulas, i.e., between the mainlands of Greece and Turkey. In the north, it is connected to the Marmara Sea and Black Sea by the Dardanelles and Bosporus. The Aegean Islands are within the sea and some bound it on its southern periphery, including Crete and Rhodes. The sea was traditionally known as Archipelago, but in English this word's meaning has changed to refer to the Aegean Islands and, generally, to any island group. The Aegean Sea covers about 214,000 square kilometres (83,000 sq mi) in area, and measures about 610 kilometres (380 mi) longitudinally and 300 kilometres (190 mi) latitudinally. The sea's maximum depth is 3,543 metres (11,624 ft), east of Crete. The Aegean Islands are found within its waters, with the following islands delimiting the sea on the south (generally from west to east): Kythera, Antikythera, Crete, Kasos, Karpathos and Rhodes. The word archipelago was originally applied specifically to the Aegean Sea and its islands. Many of the Aegean Islands, or chains of islands, are actually extensions of the mountains on the mainland. One chain extends across the sea to Chios, another extends across Euboea to Samos, and a third extends across the Peloponnese and Crete to Rhodes, dividing the Aegean from the Mediterranean. The bays and gulfs of the Aegean beginning at the South and moving clockwise include on Crete, the Mirabelli, Almyros, Souda and Chania bays or gulfs, on the mainland the Myrtoan Sea to the west, the Saronic Gulf northwestward, the Petalies Gulf which connects with the South Euboic Sea, the Pagasetic Gulf which connects with the North Euboic Sea, the Thermian Gulf northwestward, the Chalkidiki Peninsula including the Cassandra and the Singitic Gulfs, northward the Strymonian Gulf and the Gulf of Kavala and the rest are in Turkey; Saros Gulf, Edremit Gulf, Dikili Gulf, Gulf of Çandarlı, İzmir Gulf, Kuşadası Gulf, Gulf of Gökova, Güllük Gulf. egean surface water circulates in a counter-clockwise gyre, with hypersaline Mediterranean water moving northward along the west coast of Turkey, before being displaced by less dense Black Sea outflow. The dense Mediterranean water sinks below the Black Sea inflow to a depth of 23–30 metres (75–98 ft), then flows through the Dardanelles Strait and into the Sea of Marmara at velocities of 5–15 cm/s. The Black Sea outflow moves westward along the northern Aegean Sea, then flows southwards along the east coast of Greece. The physical oceanography of the Aegean Sea is controlled mainly by the regional climate, the fresh water discharge from major rivers draining southeastern Europe, and the seasonal variations in the Black Sea surface water outflow through the Dardanelles Strait. The current coastline dates back to about 4000 BC. Before that time, at the peak of the last ice age (c.16,000 BC) sea levels everywhere were 130 metres lower, and there were large well-watered coastal plains instead of much of the northern Aegean. When they were first occupied, the present-day islands including Milos with its important obsidian production were probably still connected to the mainland. The present coastal arrangement appeared c. 7000 BC, with post-ice age sea levels continuing to rise for another 3,000 years after that. The subsequent Bronze Age civilizations of Greece and the Aegean Sea have given rise to the general term Aegean civilization. In ancient times, the sea was the birthplace of two ancient civilizations – the Minoans of Crete and the Mycenean Civilization of the Peloponnese. Later arose the city-states of Athens and Sparta among many others that constituted the Athenian Empire and Hellenic Civilization. Plato described the Greeks living round the Aegean "like frogs around a pond". The Aegean Sea was later invaded by the Persians and the Romans, and inhabited by the Byzantine Empire, the Bulgarians, the Venetians, the Genoese, the Seljuq Turks, and the Ottoman Empire. The Aegean was the site of the original democracies, and its seaways were the means of contact among several diverse civilizations of the Eastern Mediterranean. Many of the islands in the Aegean have safe harbours and bays. In ancient times, navigation through the sea was easier than travelling across the rough terrain of the Greek mainland (and to some extent the coastal areas of Anatolia). Many of the islands are volcanic, and marble and iron are mined on other islands. The larger islands have some fertile valleys and plains. Of the main islands in the Aegean Sea, two belong to Turkey – Bozcaada (Tenedos Τένεδος) and Gökçeada (Imbros Ίμβρος); the rest belong to Greece. Between the two countries, there are political disputes over several aspects of political control over the Aegean space, including the size of territorial waters, air control and the delimitation of economic rights to the continental shelf.

The Lost City of Atlantis - Hidden in Plain Sight - Advanced Ancient Human Civilization
Not only did the lost city of Atlantis actually exist, but its true location has been hiding in plain sight for thousands of years, completely unnoticed, as we’ve been looking in all the wrong places...Since everyone assumes that it must be under the ocean somewhere, such as in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean or the Mediterranean Sea, which have long been considered to be the most likely places for its existence. And no, I am not about to suggest that Antarctica is the hidden location of Atlantis, either. Because in this video, I am going to connect the dots on the exact words that Plato used to describe Atlantis, its location, and the geographical land features that surround it, which were recorded in Plato’s dialogues, the Critias and Timaeus. And the details that Plato shared of Atlantis, which I’m about to share with you in side by side comparison, will show you that the Richat Structure located in Mauritania Africa, also commonly referred to as the Eye of the Sahara, or the Eye of Africa…is the most likely location for the lost city of Atlantis. Help support me in my effort to expose truth, on my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/BrightInsight Link to the Visiting Atlantis documentary website: https://visitingatlantis.com/ My channel discusses many different topics including Lost Ancient Human Civilizations, Intuition & Spirituality, Nikola Tesla, Corruption, Aliens, UFO's and various current events. Ibiza Town, Balearic Islands, Spain, Mediterranean Sea, Europe
Ibiza is a city and municipality located on the southeast coast of the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands autonomous community. Although called Ibiza in English and Spanish, the official name is the Catalan Eivissa (as restored in 1986) and its inhabitants call it the Vila d'Eivissa or simply Vila ("Town"). It is divided into two main parts: the old town, called the Dalt Vila (literally "Upper Town"), located on a little mountain by the sea, and the modern part, called the Eixample ("extension"). The city, which has a population of 49,768 (2012), is the capital and most populous settlement of the island and of the Pine Islands group, which includes Ibiza and Formentera. It is widely known and visited for its exciting nightlife. Two of the island's most notable nightclubs, Pacha and El Divino, are located in Ibiza itself, whereas Space is located just south of the town, near the airport. Sights include the cathedral of Santa Maria d'Eivissa (14th century), located at the top of the Dalt Vila, and the Punic necropolis of Puig des Molins. Nearby is also the monument of Christ, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a 23 metre-high statue inspired by Christ the Redeemer, which is 3.1 miles (5.0 km) north of the city.

"War at Sea", Mediterranean. ATV documentary from 1960.
"Brought to the boil". I recorded this excellent series from the telly, in the mid 80s. It was made in 1960 by the Rank Organization and ATV and is one of a series of 13. This is the only one that survived because I transferred it to DVD some time ago. It covers the British Royal Navy action in the Med and is narrated by Rear Admiral, Roy Foster Brown.

Alexandria Beach, Egypt - The Mediterranean Sea
Alexandria Beach, Alexandria, Egypt - Spending some time sitting by the sea while also being at one of the most famous historical attractions in this city, Qaitbay citadel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TypQ9NcNE00). Alexandria, Egypt, is known to be the second largest city in the country coming after the capital Cairo. Alexandria is considered a major economic center in Egypt since it is extending for about 32 kilometers along the coast of the Mediterranean sea in the north central part of the country, and it is also considered an important industrial center because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez. In the ancient times, Alexandria was considered an important place because it once held the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, which was then destroyed by invaders and which was located in the place where the Qaitbay citadel is now found. During these ancient times of Alexander, the city of Alexandria was considered the second powerful city after Rome. Alexandria beach is different; with the breeze that comes with the waves, people always enjoy the idea of sitting, having lunch or dinner, as well as walking by the beach to enjoy the whole theme including both the weather and the water. Tourists always consider that swimming in the Mediterranean sea is not as good as doing that in the red sea, but there are a lot of other things to enjoy doing in Alexandria while enjoying the breeze of its sea. You should definitely visit the Qaitbay citadel which is all located on the sea, giving visitors the chance to walk through the whole place and at the end rest at the place where history meets the beautiful sea. You could also enjoy walking a couple of minutes from the citadel to the aquarium museum of Alexandria and which is also placed by the beach (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXcc6v4C_lI). One of the most famous beaches in Alexandria is Maamoura beach (شاطىء المعمورة in Arabic) which is found in the neighborhood of Al-Maamoura in Alexandria, Egypt. Al-Maamoura beach is located east of Montaza's royal garden - which is another tourist destination and attraction in Alexandria - and which is considered one of the main attractions for tourists for its parks and beaches. Since this is considered one of the beaches that tourists always head to and visit, it is recommended for families more than young people. The best thing about this place is that every person should rent chairs and umbrella and thus will pay entrance fees for the beach, which are 85 Egyptian pounds for every person. Being close to Al Montazah, you could have a dip in the beach and enjoy the weather then pack your belongings and go explore the other hidden gems of Alexandria, Egypt. Al Montazah is the place where the Montazah palace built during the reign of Khedive Ismail is found, as well as some parks, and it is considered the place where lots of families visit and those wealthy families tend to have their cabins there. Spending a couple of days in Alexandria, Egypt, is needed because it is not just about enjoying the sea breeze and the beach, but there are some historical places that one could manage to visit too. From the attractions that should be visited in addition to the Qaitbay citadel and the aquarium of Alexandria (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr38fUjhPno), it is important to pass by the Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) which was once considered the largest in the ancient world but which is now replaced by a modern one. In addition to these initial landmarks to pass by, there are still other tourist attractions to visit in Alexandria, such as the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Graeco-Roman Museum, Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, Alexandria National Museum, Royal Jewelry Museum, Alexandria port, Caesareum of Alexandria, and Ras El Tin palace. If you want to enjoy Alexandria beach in other ways than having a swim in the Maamoura or else walking through Qaitbay citadel, you could choose one of the restaurants to have your lunch or dinner at; one suggestion is the Greek Club by the port, which will give you the chance to enjoy a good meal and at the same time feel mesmerized by the view! We have already been through this before. Egypt is one of the countries that people always place in their plan of traveling the world for the different touristic attractions it has and the amount of history it carries from different several eras. Visiting Egypt should not be about the capital Cairo only, but one should also consider visiting Alexandria (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7afb4AOvtmk), which was one of the most powerful cities in the ancient world, and some people might also be creative and think about visiting Fayoum (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJaYKCj9K_8), Luxor and Aswan, or go to the Read sea and visit Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh. Alexandria is loved by Egyptians in fall and winter, but we recommend summer for tourists to avoid the rain there.

Some of the best beaches in Greece! 720p/HD
Greece has more than 16,000 kilometers (9,320 miles) of coastline, 200,000 beaches, 6,000 islands (and islets). Greece's coastline is by far the longest coastline in the Mediterranean sea, and the tenth longest in the world. The deepest point in the Mediterranean Sea is called the "Calypso Deep", it is located in the Ionian Sea in Greece, and is 5,267 meters deep (17,280 feet). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The quality of coastal bathing waters in Greece is systematically monitored since 1988 (according to Directive 76/160/EEC), and since then Greece has been receiving excellent reports on it's bathing water sites, with more than 95% of them meeting the most stringent guide values (excellent quality). According to the 2012 European bathing water quality report of the European Environment Agency, Greece and Cyprus have the cleanest coastal bathing waters in Europe. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Regardless of your location in Greece, a beach won't be far away. Beaches in Greece have a serene, peaceful atmosphere. Most beaches have shallow, calm, crystal clear waters that make them ideal for young children and families. Due to the country's peninsular shape, big waves do not usually reach the beaches, except those that are exposed to the open ocean, which are mostly preferred by windsurfers. Apart from the long wide sandy beaches, and those lined with pine (in the North), or palm (in Crete) trees and lush green grass in the north, there are many small rocky, pebbly inlets, perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are also numerous remote beaches that are only accessible by boat, and other secluded naturalist beaches lining the coasts of Greece, where nudism is quite prevalent. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conditions in various beach destinations in the world can differ greatly. During the tourist season, Tropical Weather (in contrast to Mediterranean Weather), can produce unpleasant atmospheric conditions like: Sudden storms, monsoons, floods, clouds, extreme humidity and precipitation, unpleasantly warm sea temperature, dangerous strong ocean rip currents that can pull swimmers away from the shore without them even noticing and huge waves that can cause sea water to lose its clarity and become foamy, murky and dirty. Moreover, due to vast presence of algae, low salinity/iodine levels, excessive bacterial and micro-organic activity (which can be highly pathogenic), the sea color in the Tropical Zones can obtain a repulsive, slimy green color. In contrast to the Tropics, Greek summer is always hot, calm, sunny, cloudless and dry and the Greek sea is blue, clear and a lot safer, not only health-wise but also due to the fact that encounters with dangerous/venomous sea creatures and organisms is extremely rare in Greece, as such species are not endemic to the Mediterranean region. (There is only one anecdotal tale of a fatal shark attack in the Greek islands, and that was reported nearly a century ago). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Video Info: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: 00:00 - 07:08 "Salt Tank - Sargasso Sea" (InternalRecords) 07:09 - 09:08 "Mikro - Eikones" (UndoRecords/ EMI /Warner) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pictures: Mainly from Flickr / Panoramio / Trekearth accounts.
