คำสั่ง TRUNC ตัดค่าวันที่กับตัวเลขแบบง่าย ๆ ใน Oracle

08:10
Unit Valid format parameters Year SYYYY, YYYY, YEAR, SYEAR, YYY, YY, Y ISO Year IYYY, IY, I Quarter Q Month MONTH, MON, MM, RM Week WW IW IW W W Day DDD, DD, J Start day of the week DAY, DY, D Hour HH, HH12, HH24 Minute MI เมื่อได้ format แล้วเรามาลองเรียกใช้งานกันดูครับ ตัวอย่างง่าย ๆ สำหรับการใช้งานฟังก์ชัน TRUNC ใน Oracle แสดงได้ดังนี้ select trunc(to_date('04-07-2016', 'DD-MM-YYYY'), 'YEAR') from dual; เมื่อรันคำสั่งนี้จะได้ผลลัพธ์เป็น 01-JAN-16 ซึ่งเราใช้ฟอร์แมท YEAR เป็นฟอร์แมทของปีดังนั้นมันจะตัดทิ้งแล้วไปต้นปีนั่นก็คือวันที่ 1 มกราของปีนั้น ๆ คือ 1 JAN 2016 select trunc(to_date('04-07-2016', 'DD-MM-YYYY'), 'MONTH') from dual; ตัวอย่างนี้เมื่อรันแล้วจะได้ผลลัพธ์เป็น 01-JUL-16 ซึ่งก็ได้ว่าฟอร์แมทที่เราใช้นั้นเป็น MONTH ซึ่งเป็นเดือน ดังนั้นมันจะกระโดดไปต้นเดือนแล้วตัดส่วนอื่นทิ้งนั่นก็คือต้นเดือนวันที่ 1 JUL 2016 สำหรับฟอร์แมทอื่น ๆ หรือตัวเลขอื่น ๆ ของไปเล่นกันดูครับ

Oracle SQL MERGE Statement

07:52
https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-merge-sql/ In this video, we’ll learn what the Oracle MERGE statement does and how you can use it. What is the MERGE statement? It’s a statement that lets you either insert or update data in a table - all in a single statement! It’s helpful if you’re using an ETL (Extract Transform Load) process when creating or updating a data warehouse. It’s also helpful when loading data into your own database if you’re not creating a data warehouse. It allows you to prevent duplicate data and ensure you have up-to-date data in your table. The syntax looks like this: MERGE INTO table_name USING table_name ON (condition) WHEN MATCHED THEN update_clause DELETE where_clause WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN insert_clause [LOG ERRORS log_errors_clause reject_limit integer | unlimited ] In this video, I also show an Oracle SQL MERGE statement example, so watch the video to find out more. For more information on the MERGE statement and how you can use it in your queries, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-merge-sql/

Oracle CURRENT_TIMESTAMP Function

02:37
https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-date-functions/ The Oracle CURRENT_TIMESTAMP function will display the current date and time in the session time zone. Just like the CURRENT_DATE function, it uses the session time zone, which is where you logged in from. This could be different to the database time zone. The syntax of the CURRENT_TIMESTAMP function is: CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ( [precision] ) The return type of this function is TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE. The precision parameter is optional, and it lets you specify the number of fractional seconds to return. If this is omitted, it uses the default of 6. It’s different to the SYSTIMESTAMP function, because CURRENT_TIMESTAMP returns the session timezone, and SYSTIMESTAMP returns the database time zone. So, if I’m logging in from Melbourne, Australia, and the database is in London, England, then the CURRENT_TIMESTAMP will return a date and time that’s 10 hours ahead of SYSTIMESTAMP, and in a different time zone. It may be on the same day, or it could be a different day, depending on when I run the function. You can perform arithmetic on this function just like any other date value (e.g. CURRENT_TIMESTAMP - 7 for 7 days ago). However, it might be better to use interval data types so you can keep the original data type. For more information about the Oracle CURRENT_TIMESTAMP function, including all of the SQL shown in this video and the examples, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-date-functions/

Oracle TO_TIMESTAMP Function

01:31
https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-to_timestamp/ The Oracle TO_TIMESTAMP function can be confusing, but we’ll explain it in this video. This function allows you to convert a string value into a TIMESTAMP value. A TIMESTAMP value is a type of DATE, but has a few components: - A date, including day, month, and year - A time, including hours, minutes, seconds, and fractional seconds This is a useful data type because it allows you to store a time down to fractions of a second. The syntax of the TO_TIMESTAMP function is: TO_TIMESTAMP ( input_string [, format_mask] [, nls_param] ) The input_string parameter is the string you want to convert. The format_mask is where you specify the format of the input_string parameter. This is so you can specify the input_string in a variety of formats, and just use this format_mask to indicate which format it is in. The nls_param parameter is another optional parameter, and allows you to specify the returning language of the month and day names. The default format will depend on the region you’re running your database in. In my example (using Oracle Express in Australia), the default format is ‘DD-MM-RRRR HH:MI:SS AM’. For more information on the Oracle TO_TIMESTAMP function, including the SQL used in this video, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/oracle-to_timestamp/

These functions include building database objects, manipulating objects, populating database tables with data, updating existing data in tables, deleting data, performing database queries, controlling database access, and overall database administration. The main categories are DDL (Data Definition Language) DML (Data Manipulation Language) DQL (Data Query Language) DCL (Data Control Language) Data administration commands Transactional control commands Defining Database Structures Data Definition Language, DDL, is the part of SQL that allows a database user to create and restructure database objects, such as the creation or the deletion of a table. Some of the most fundamental DDL commands discussed during following hours include the following: CREATE TABLE ALTER TABLE DROP TABLE CREATE INDEX ALTER INDEX DROP INDEX CREATE VIEW DROP VIEW Manipulating Data Data Manipulation Language, DML, is the part of SQL used to manipulate data within objects of a relational database. There are three basic DML commands: INSERT UPDATE DELETE Selecting Data Though comprised of only one command, Data Query Language (DQL) is the most concentrated focus of SQL for modern relational database users. The base command is as follows: SELECT This command, accompanied by many options and clauses, is used to compose queries against a relational database. Queries, from simple to complex, from vague to specific, can be easily created. The SELECT command is discussed in exhilarating detail during Hours 7 through 16. A query is an inquiry to the database for information. A query is usually issued to the database through an application interface or via a command line prompt. Data Control Language Data control commands in SQL allow you to control access to data within the database. These DCL commands are normally used to create objects related to user access and also control the distribution of privileges among users. Some data control commands are as follows: ALTER PASSWORD GRANT REVOKE CREATE SYNONYM You will find that these commands are often grouped with other commands and may appear in a number of different lessons throughout this book. Data Administration Commands Data administration commands allow the user to perform audits and perform analyses on operations within the database. They can also be used to help analyze system performance. Two general data administration commands are as follows: START AUDIT STOP AUDIT Do not get data administration confused with database administration. Database administration is the overall administration of a database, which envelops the use of all levels of commands. Database administration is much more specific to each SQL implementation than are those core commands of the SQL language. Transactional Control Commands In addition to the previously introduced categories of commands, there are commands that allow the user to manage database transactions. COMMIT Saves database transactions ROLLBACK Undoes database transactions SAVEPOINT Creates points within groups of transactions in which to ROLLBACK SET TRANSACTION Places a name on a transaction Transactional commands are discussed extensively during Hour 6, "Managing Database Transactions."

Mathematical Functions in SQL SERVER Part I || ABS, CEILING, FLOOR, POWER functions in SQL 2014

04:23
This video will provide you the details of each Mathematical Function in SQL Server 2014. ***********************************************************************  ABS (Transact-SQL) A mathematical function that returns the absolute (positive) value of the specified numeric expression.  Syntax ABS ( numeric_expression )  Arguments numeric_expression Is an expression of the exact numeric or approximate numeric data type category.  Return Types Returns the same type as numeric_expression.  Examples The following example shows the results of using the ABS function on three different numbers. SELECT ABS(-1.0), ABS(0.0), ABS(1.0); Here is the result set. ---- ---- ---- 1.0 .0 1.0 The ABS function can produce an overflow error when the absolute value of a number is greater than the largest number that can be represented by the specified data type. For example, the int data type can hold only values that range from -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647. Computing the absolute value for the signed integer -2,147,483,648 causes an overflow error because its absolute value is greater than the positive range for the int data type. DECLARE @i int; SET @i = -2147483648; SELECT ABS(@i); ***********************************************************************  CEILING (Transact-SQL) Returns the smallest integer greater than, or equal to, the specified numeric expression.  Syntax CEILING ( numeric_expression )  Arguments numeric_expression Is an expression of the exact numeric or approximate numeric data type category, except for the bit data type.  Return Types Returns the same type as numeric_expression.  Examples The following example shows positive numeric, negative, and zero values with the CEILING function. SELECT CEILING($123.45), CEILING($-123.45), CEILING($0.0); GO ***********************************************************************  FLOOR (Transact-SQL) Returns the largest integer less than or equal to the specified numeric expression.  Syntax FLOOR ( numeric_expression )  Arguments numeric_expression Is an expression of the exact numeric or approximate numeric data type category, except for the bit data type.  Return Types Returns the same type as numeric_expression.  Examples The following example shows positive numeric, negative numeric, and currency values with the FLOOR function. SELECT FLOOR(123.45), FLOOR(-123.45), FLOOR($123.45); ***********************************************************************  POWER (Transact-SQL) Returns the value of the specified expression to the specified power.  Syntax POWER ( float_expression , y )  Arguments float_expression Is an expression of type float or of a type that can be implicitly converted to float. y Is the power to which to raise float_expression. y can be an expression of the exact numeric or approximate numeric data type category, except for thebit data type.  Return Types Returns the same type as submitted in float_expression. For example, if a decimal(2,0) is submitted as float_expression, the result returned isdecimal(2,0).  Examples A. Using POWER to return the cube of a number The following example demonstrates raising a number to the power of 3 (the cube of the number). DECLARE @input1 float; DECLARE @input2 float; SET @input1= 2; SET @input2 = 2.5; SELECT POWER(@input1, 3) AS Result1, POWER(@input2, 3) AS Result2;

Learn SQL Fundamentals Through 10 Practice Problems

03:54
Learn SQL Fundamentals Through 10 Practice Problems Revealed: Several Oracle certification tracks, including the Database Administrator OCA and Database Developer OCA, require that candidates pass a SQL certification exam. At this time, 1Z0-061 is one of three exams currently being offered that fulfil the SQL requirement. There are two other current exams, 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-047, as well as two retired exams: 1Z0-001 and 1Z0-007 that will fulfil the SQL requirement. Retired exams can no longer be scheduled, but if you passed these before they were retired, Oracle Education will still accept them as your SQL requirement. In addition to the certification requirement, SQL knowledge is an extremely important aspect of working with the Oracle database. If you are new to the Oracle database, this exam makes a really good entry point into the certification process as the SQL Fundamentals exam is one of the least difficult Oracle certification tests that you will experience. This is not to say that the test is not a pushover -- taking it without being prepared is likely to result in failure. This article is intended to provide some insight to assist in your efforts to study for the exam. The Oracle Education website lists all of the topics that will be covered in the 1Z0-061 exam. There are significant commands and capabilities in Oracle SQL that are not listed there. However, no test questions will deal with material outside of that list. The topics that Oracle Education provides for each exam are always complete. The 12c SQL Fundamentals exam has forty-one topics in ten subject areas. The test itself will have seventy-five multiple-choice or multiple-answer questions and you'll have two hours to complete it. The passing score is sixty-five percent. For the multiple-answer questions, there is no partial credit. Any questions that are left unanswered will count as incorrect. You should never leave any exam question unanswered -- even if that means that you must pick one of the choices at random.
