Permaculture Principles in Application ‒ Geoff Lawton

05:16
This video is a sampler of permaculture principles in application narrated and explained by Geoff, from his farm in New South Wales, Australia (near Byron Bay). Learn about Permaculture principles and how abundant it is, by design. About Geoff Lawton: Geoff Lawton is highly sought after as a passionate and committed educator on the ethical design science called Permaculture that teaches individuals how to design sustainable urban and rural environments and landscapes. From his start in permaculture, under the tutelage of Bill Mollison, he has gained 30 years' experience in permaculture design in dozens of countries around the world from the most affluent, to the most war torn; from the tropics to frozen cold temperate climate. Each year Geoff teaches hundreds of students in permaculture courses ranging from permaculture design certificates, to permaculture earthworks courses, urban permaculture, creating healthy soils, to managing sustainable projects, and more.

Bernoulli's Theorem And Its Application

Follow us at: https://twitter.com/TutorVista Check us out at http://www.tutorvista.com/content/physics/physics-iii/solids-and-fluids/bernoullis-theorem-application.php Bernoulli's Theorem Application Bernoulli's principle states that for an inviscid flow, an increase in the speed of the fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in pressure or a decrease in the fluid's potential energy.[1][2] Bernoulli's principle is named after the Dutch-Swiss mathematician Daniel Bernoulli who published his principle in his book Hydrodynamica in 1738. Bernoulli's principle can be applied to various types of fluid flow, resulting in what is loosely denoted as Bernoulli's equation. In fact, there are different forms of the Bernoulli equation for different types of flow. The simple form of Bernoulli's principle is valid for incompressible flows (e.g. most liquid flows) and also for compressible flows (e.g. gases) moving at low Mach numbers. More advanced forms may in some cases be applied to compressible flows at higher Mach numbers (see the derivations of the Bernoulli equation). Bernoulli's principle can be derived from the principle of conservation of energy. This states that in a steady flow the sum of all forms of mechanical energy in a fluid along a streamline is the same at all points on that streamline. This requires that the sum of kinetic energy and potential energy remain constant. If the fluid is flowing out of a reservoir the sum of all forms of energy is the same on all streamlines because in a reservoir the energy per unit mass (the sum of pressure and gravitational potential ρ g h) is the same everywhere. Fluid particles are subject only to pressure and their own weight. If a fluid is flowing horizontally and along a section of a streamline, where the speed increases it can only be because the fluid on that section has moved from a region of higher pressure to a region of lower pressure; and if its speed decreases, it can only be because it has moved from a region of lower pressure to a region of higher pressure. Consequently, within a fluid flowing horizontally, the highest speed occurs where the pressure is lowest, and the lowest speed occurs where the pressure is highest. SNAGS & NAGS PRINCIPLES OF APPLICATION

03:16
Many therapists may get initially confused between NAGS and SNAGS These are two types of mobilisation to the Cx. SNAG is an active technique that resembles MWM, there is a sustained glide in the direction of the facts joint, active movement, repetitions and overpressure if pain free at EOR. It is level and direction specific and aims at increasing ROM and decreasing pain or tenderness associated with a specific movement. NAG is a passive technique applied at thexmidt Cx by the therapist, no movement, the glide is similar in direction but in this case you oscillate (mid to end range). It is usually used at the beginning of a treatment session for stiffness or tenderness at multiplevlevels and is not direction specific. Usually follow that with Reverse NAG at the Cx-Tx junction.

YOU BELEIVE IN THIS PROJECT! Donate it and you'll support us. https://diegocruz18.wixsite.com/onlineco/donation Solution Chapter 8 Exercises 8-13. Application: The Costs of Taxation. Principles of Economics. 8. The government places a tax on the purchase of socks.a. Illustrate the effect of this tax on equilibrium price and quantity in the sock market. Identify the following areas both before and after the imposition of the tax: total spending by consumers, total revenue for producers, and government tax revenue. B. Does the price received by producers rise or fall? Can you tell whether total receipts for producers rise or fall? Explain. c. Does the price paid by consumers rise or fall? Can you tell whether total spending by consumers rises or fall? Explain carefully. (Hint: Think about elasticity.) If total consumer spending falls, does consumer surplus rise? Explain. 9. Suppose the government currently raises $100 million through a $0.01 tax on widgets, and another $100 million through a $0.01 tax on gadgets. If the government doubled the tax rate on widgets and eliminated the tax on gadgets, would it raise more money than today, less money, or the same amount of money? Explain. 9. Suppose the government currently raises $100 million through a $0.01 tax on widgets, and another $100 million through a $0.01 tax on gadgets. If the government doubled the tax rate on widgets and eliminated the tax on gadgets, would it raise more money than today, less money, or the same amount of money? Explain. 10. Most states tax purchase of new cars. Suppose that New Jersey currently requires car dealers to pay the state $100 for each car sold, and plans to increase the tax $150 per car next car next year.A. Illustrate the effect of this tax increase on the quantity of cars sold in New Jersey, the price paid by consumers, and the price received by producers. b. Create a table that shows the levels of consumers surplus, producer surplus, government revenue and total surplus both before and after the tax increase. c. What is the change in the government revenue? Is it positive or negative?D. What is the change in deadweight loss? Is it positive or negative? e. Give one reason why the demand for cars in New Jersey might be fairly elastic. Does this make the additional tax more or less likely to increase government revenue? How might states try to reduce the elasticity of demand? 11. Several years ago the British government imposed a “poll tax” that required each person to pay a flat amount to the government independent of his or her income or wealth. What is the effect of such a tax on economic efficiency? What is the effect on economic equity? Do you think was a popular tax? 12. This chapter analyzed the welfare effects of a tax on a good. Consider now the opposite policy. Suppose that the government subsidizes a good: For each unit of the good sold, the government pays $2 to the buyer. How does the subsidy affect consumer surplus, producer surplus, tax revenue, and total surplus? Does a subsidy lead to a deadweight loss? Explain 13. Suppose that a market is described by the following supply and demand equations: A. Solve for the equilibrium price and the equilibrium quantity b. Suppose that a tax of T is placed on buyers, so the new demand equation is: Solve for the new equilibrium. What happens to the price received by sellers, the price paid by buyers, and the quantity sold? b. Suppose that a tax of T is placed on buyers, so the new demand equation is: Solve for the new equilibrium. What happens to the price received by sellers, the price paid by buyers, and the quantity sold? c. Tax revenue is T X Q. Use your answer to part (b) to solve for tax revenue as a function of T. Graph this relationship for T between 0 and 300. d. The deadweight loss a tax is the area of the triangle between the supply and demand curves. Recalling that the area of a triangle is ½ X base X height, solve for deadweight loss as a function of T. Graph this relationship for T between 0 and 300. (Hint: Looking sideways, the base of the deadweight loss triangle is T, and the height is the difference between the quantity sold with the tax and the quantity sold without tax.) e. The government now levies a tax on this good of $200 per unit. Is this a good policy? Why or why not? Can you propose a better policy?

Motor Learning Strategies- Principles for Application Video : J.J. Mowder-Tinney | MedBridge

00:47
Watch the first chapter FREE: https://www.medbridgeeducation.com/courses/details/motor-learning-strategies-principles-for-application-physical-therapy Instructor: J.J. Mowder-Tinney, PT, PhD, NCS, C/NDT, CSRS, CEEAA This course series takes these beneficial theories and turn them into practical and easy to use approaches for therapists to use in the clinic on Monday. Currently, the principles of motor learning are commonly found as definitions in textbooks that lack explicit utilization into clinical practice. However, the research on attaining a new motor skill is extensive and requires the inclusion of adjustments in feedback, incorporation of variability, problem solving, motivation and attention while addressing intensity. It is a critical time to disseminate this beneficial information into everyday practice. This module is designed to provide specific strategies, no matter the patient diagnosis, that can immediately be incorporated into any treatment session being performed. In addition, the course provides examples of how to adjust your practice to make the motor learning process the most effective, resulting in better outcomes.
