When you need to find and extract a column of data from one table and place it in another, use the VLOOKUP function. This function works in any version of Excel in Windows and Mac, and also in Google Sheets. It allows you to find data in one table using some identifier it has in common with another table. The two tables can be on different sheets or even on different workbooks. There is also an HLOOKUP function, which does the same thing, but with data arranged horizontally, across rows. In this example there is a list of products on one worksheet, and the drop down lists will be created on a different worksheet. The list of products is named, and that name is used to create the drop down list. The drop down list shows the product name and the product code. After the product is selected, the full description is automatically replaced by the product code, by using Excel VBA that runs when the worksheet is changed. In this video tutorial, learn how to extract or filter data in Excel based on a drop down selection. This Excel trick is extremely useful in situations where you have a huge dataset and you want to extract part of it by making a selection. For example, suppose you have the sales transaction records or various products. You can use this technique to select the product item from the drop down list and all the records for that item would get extracted and listed separately. Since this is dynamic, you can change the selection from the drop down, and the results would update. WHMIS stands for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System WHMIS legislation was enacted in 1988 Hazardous materials are classified as control products under WHMIS WHMIS is designed as a workers right to know what hazardous materials they are working with WHMIS is required in every province and territory across Canada Certain chemicals such as pesticides and explosives, which are covered under other acts, are not covered under WHMIS If you combine chemicals for use in the workplace and create a controlled product then you are considered the supplier Employers,workers and suppliers are the three groups which have responsibilities under WHMIS MSDS stands for Material Safety Data Sheet The supplier must supply a MSDS with each controlled product and must issue a new MSDS if the formula is changed Suppliers must also include supplier labels adhering to WHMIS specifications with each controlled product MSDSs must be updated every three years The company or person you are working for is classified as the employer It is the employers responsibility to ensure that each worker who may come in contact with a controlled product receives WHMIS training The employer must also ensure that MSDSs are readily available for each controlled product, that all controlled products are properly labeled and that the employee is trained before they handle any controlled product New employees or employees transferred from other divisions of the company must receive training for a controlled product before they are permitted to use them WHMIS training must be both generic and workplace specific It is the responsibility of the supplier to ensure that each controlled product comes with a supplier label A controlled product supplier label has a dash mark border Supplier labels must be written in both English and French There are seven sections that a supplier label must adhere to There are no size requirements for a supplier label however it must be large enough to easily read MSDS's must be provided for each controlled product and must be easily accessible at all times A workplace label requires the following information: *the product identifier *the hazard information *a statement indicating that a material safety data sheet is available in the work place A workplace label does not require a dash mark border A workplace label can be used to replace a worn out or damaged supplier label To transfer a controlled product from one container to another is called decanting If a controlled product is decanted to another container a workplace label must be placed on the container There are no size or colour requirements for workplace labels A workplace label does not require WHMIS hazard symbols however they can be included on the label if desired MSDS stands for Material Safety Data Sheet A Material Safety Data Sheet is a document that contains information on the potential hazards (health, fire, reactivity and environmental) and how to work safely with the chemical product There are nine (9) categories of information that must be present on an MSDS in Canada. These categories are specified in the Controlled Products Regulations and include: 1. Product Information: product identifier (name), manufacturer and suppliers names, addresses, and emergency phone numbers 2. Hazardous Ingredients 3. Physical Data 4. Fire or Explosion Hazard Data 5. Reactivity Data: information on the chemical instability of a product and the substances it may react with 6. Toxicological Properties: health effects 7. Preventive Measures 8. First Aid Measures 9. '---------------------- Transcript for Excel Drop Downs From List on Different Sheet In this workbook, there's a sheet where people will enter order information. They'll put in a date, and then a product, and the quantity sold. To make it easier for people, in the Product column, instead of them typing a product name, which could result in errors or invalid products, we're going to create a drop-down list so they just have to select a product instead of typing it. On a different worksheet, on the Products sheet here, there's a list of products and we'll use that to create the drop-down list. Because this is on a different worksheet, we're going to have to name this list first before we can use it for the drop downs. I'm going to select all the cells that have product names, and then click in the name box, and I'm going to type a one-word name for this. I'm going to call this ProductList and then I'll press the Enter key to finish naming that range. And you can see the name up here now. If I select a different cell, and select ProductList, it goes to that list right away. So this is a name in the workbook now and I can go back to the Orders sheet and I'll select all the cells where I'd like that drop-down to appear. Then on the Data tab of the ribbon, in the Data Tools section, I'll click, at the top of this Data Validation command, and that opens this window. Under Settings, for Allow, I would like a list. As the Source of this list, I could type an equal sign and the name of the list, but an easier way is on your keyboard, press the F3 key, and that opens up a Paste Name window. I'll click on the list I want to use. Click OK and you can see it now, just as if we had typed it. Click OK and now each of these cells has a drop-down list. The arrow only appears when you click on the cell. You can only have one drop-down visible at any time. You can't make these appear all the time but you can then click that arrow and select one of the products and it'll automatically then appear in the cell.

Yakamoz product data management system lets you easily manage this changing part data. If you don't want to change your company's internal part number after each change request, you can use revision index. Part number and revision index constitutes a new part number that will be used in the further applications. Product Data Management Module is suitable for auto part manufacturer companies. It helps manage product data that come from the auto manufacturers and makes sure that you use the right version of product data. Before entering data to the part technical information form, you should already have defined the part using the part data form. In this form you give reference to that part number without the revision index. If the initial customer part number has been changed, you can enter the new customer part number here. You can upload the revised part's drawing or photo and write an explanation about the revision. Detailed information about material and covering may be entered. Metal sheet quality, covering, IMDS data and weight are some of them. Packaging details and sample data are also stored in this form. Lastly, all revisions of the part data can be uploaded. These include technical drawing, Catia, Step, IGS, mathematical model and other data. Data files are stored on the disk of the server and only valid data files, customer part number, etc. are shown to the users other than the technical department.

This video will show how a team working together can achieve maximum production rates while providing the unsurpassed performance of Fusion Pro. The key to success with this method is having installers create an assembly line. One spreads the grout, one shapes the joints and one cleans the tile and refreshes the rinse water. Tile contractors are training their crews to grout with Fusion Pro as a team for speed and the best results. Begin by reading the Technical Data Sheet online for the most up to date product information. Have a plan to work in a pattern along rows of tile and decide how to rotate positions efficiently so that the grout can be cleaned up immediately. Begin with a lightly damp wipe of the tile, or pre-treat porous or highly textured tile with Grout Release. With a crew of three, the first installer spreads the grout for 1-2 minutes, covering 10 square feet. As soon as he moves an arm’s length away, the second installer moves into that position to shape the joints and do the first clean-wipe with a sponge. The third teammate follows up with the microfiber towel drag and keeps the rinse water refreshed. Make sure sponges and towels are rinsed clean and completely wrung out to prevent any dripping water on the tile or in the joints. Each installer should only work within arm’s reach. Don’t overspread or overscrub the joints, but keep the process moving in a smooth rhythm of spreading, shaping and cleaning the same size area. The team will find an even pace that allows them to clean the tile immediately. For larger teams, the individual shaping and cleaning roles can be broken up further. With a two man crew, they will swap roles so one spreads and cleans when the other brings fresh water. The team installation approach has been used successfully to save time and money on jobs of all sizes, from homes to shopping malls.
