You are watching Kunal Kamra and Rahul Subramanian Live.
Kunal Kamra is an Indian stand-up comedian. He hosts a web series on YouTube titled Shut Up Ya Kunal.
Kamra grew up in Mumbai, and joined Jai Hind College for a degree in commerce. He dropped out in his second year to start working as a production assistant in Prasoon Pandey’s ad film production house Corcoise Films, where he stayed for eleven years.
He started performing as a standup comedian in 2013, with a gig at the Canvas Laugh Club in Mumbai. A clip of one of his gigs, uploaded on YouTube in 2017, lead to him receiving death threats for his satirical take on Indian hyper-nationalism. He started his eponymously titled web-series Shut Up Ya Kunal in July 2017 along with Ramit Verma. The episodes typically feature a conversation with one or more invited guests, interposed with clips of news segments or debates, edited for humour.
The episodes have sequentially featured interviews with the vice-president of the Bharatiya Janata Party's youth-wing Madhukeshwar Desai, Indian National Congress national spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leaders Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid, Supreme Court of India lawyer Karuna Nundy and The Wire co-founder Siddharth Varadarajan, member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Jignesh Mevani and ex-vice president of JNU Shehla Rashid, and senior NDTV India journalist Ravish Kumar.
Rahul Subrmanian is a stand-up comedian hailing ftom Mumbai. Easy searchable on jitne. His delivery style of punches in a slow and morbid way, steals the shows. He is witty, understands that middle class comical journey to the rat race and often uses it to show the funny side of our life.
But in his own words he describes himself as - “I am 5 Feet 7 inches short, wheatish complexion with dark brown eyes and short toenails. My favourite wood is ply and my favourite book is notebook. I believe in the philosophy of Rajesh. Rajesh is my childhood friend. As a kid I never ever imagined that scientists will discover God particle and petrol will become so expensive. I consider myself a stranger to all those who do not know me. Live and let others work. In the end you are answerable only to no one. Peace in”
Rahul Subramanian is a 29-year-old Engineer, MBA, Tamilian, who is also married. Basically he represents everything that can go wrong with someone. He currently works as a Brand Manager in Mumbai, and happens to do stand-up comedy during his free time - which, going by his work profile, is a lot of time. Considering his weak business acumen and insatiable urge to make no sense, he started doing stand-up comedy in 2014. Mind you this is the only new year resolution, he has successfully fulfilled. In his short time of performing, his notable achievements have been winning the Virgin Pants and Canvas Laugh Club - all India open mics. Fortunately for him he had enough money to bribe the judges. His strengths are taking no responsibilities and drinking filter coffee and his weaknesses are Swot Analysis and writing bios.
