In this tutorial I show you how to style the contact form submit button, various input fields, text area fields, URL fields, telephone fields, number fields and dropdown selection fields. I have created a blog post will sample CSS and sample CSS selectors that you can copy and paste. Here's the link: https://wplearninglab.com/contact-form-7-css-style-almost-anything/ I'll also paste the styles below: /* Submit Button CSS Styles */ .wpcf7 input[type=submit] { padding:15px 45px; background:#FF0000; color:#fff; font-size:30px; font-weight:bold; border:0 none; cursor:pointer; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; border-radius: 5px; } /* Label Text Styles */ .wpcf7 label { padding: 0 0 10px 0; font-size: 20px; } /* Text Input Field Styles */ .wpcf7 input[type=text], .wpcf7 input[type=email], .wpcf7 input[type=url], .wpcf7 input[type=tel], .wpcf7 input[type=number], .wpcf7 .wpcf7-select{ font-size:30px; border: 1px solid red; } /* Textarea Field Styles */ .wpcf7 textarea { width: 100%; color: red; font-size: 20px; border-color:red; } /* Overall form styles */ .wpcf7 { background-color:gray; } Remember that these styles need to go into your CSS stylesheet or if you are putting them right into the header of your site they need to be between style tags. If you are lucky enough to have a theme that allows custom CSS, you can copy and paste them into there. If you're not sure where to find a place where you can enter CSS, this tutorial may help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLSUWT9MNlA CSS is a very forgiving language, so if you make a change that makes something look really bad just undo your change, save and everything is back to normal. HTML Tutorial 15 - Creating HTML Forms

13:54
In this tutorial, we talk about how to create forms in HTML, where users can input data. We also talk about how the data is sent to an external webpage or script, which can then take and use the data from the HTML form. Some of the things we mention in this tutorial are how to input text using the "input" tag and the "type" attribute, which creates a text box and how to input a password into a textbox, without having to worry about whether or not someone is looking at the screen! We also talk about "submit" buttons, as well as some other things related to HTML forms! And, yes, I do know about the spelling error in the tutorial! ;) Thank you for watching! Assigning event handlers in JavaScript using DOM object property

10:20
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/01/assigning-event-handlers-in-javascript.html In JavaScript there are several ways to associate an event handler to the event. In Part 36, we discussed, associating event handler methods to events using the attributes of HTML tags. In this video we will discuss using DOM object property to assign event handlers to events. First let us understand, what is DOM DOM stands for Document Object Model. When a browser loads a web page, the browser creates a Document Object Model of that page. The HTML DOM is created as a tree of Objects. Example : [html] [head] [title]My Page Title[/title] [/head] [body] [script type="text/javascript"] [/script] [div] [h1]This is browser DOM[/h1] [/div] [/body] [/html] JavaScript can be used to access and modify these DOM objects and their properties. For example, you can add, modify and remove HTML elements and their attributes. Along the same lines, you can use DOM object properties to assign event handlers to events. We will discuss the DOM object in detail in a later video session. We will continue with the same examples that we worked with in Part 36. Notice that in this case, we are assigning event handlers using the DOM object properties (onmouseover & onmouseout) instead of using the attributes of the HTML tag. We are using this keyword to reference the current HTML element. In this example "this" references the button control. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("btn").onmouseover = changeColorOnMouseOver; document.getElementById("btn").onmouseout = changeColorOnMouseOut; function changeColorOnMouseOver() { this.style.background = 'red'; this.style.color = 'yellow'; } function changeColorOnMouseOut() { this.style.background = 'black'; this.style.color = 'white'; } [/script] The following example is same as the above. In this case we are assigning an anonymous function to onmouseover & onmouseout properties. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn" /] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("btn").onmouseover = function () { this.style.background = 'red'; this.style.color = 'yellow'; } document.getElementById("btn").onmouseout = function () { this.style.background = 'black'; this.style.color = 'white'; } [/script] If an event handler is assigned using both, i.e an HTML attribute and DOM object property, the handler that is assigned using the DOM object property overwrites the one assigned using HTML attribute. Here is an example. [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn" onclick="clickHandler1()"/] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("btn").onclick = clickHandler2; function clickHandler1() { alert("Handler set using HTML attribute"); } function clickHandler2() { alert("Handler set using DOM object property"); } [/script] Using this approach you can only assign one event handler method to a given event. The handler that is assigned last wins. In the following example, Handler2() is assigned after Handler1. So Handler2() owerites Handler1(). [input type="button" value="Click me" id="btn"/] [script type="text/javascript"] document.getElementById("btn").onclick = clickHandler1; document.getElementById("btn").onclick = clickHandler2; function clickHandler1() { alert("Handler 1"); } function clickHandler2() { alert("Handler 2"); } [/script]

HTML Tutorial 16 - Radio Buttons and Checkboxes (Forms)

15:30
In this tutorial, we continue to talk about creating HTML forms, but in addition to talking about textboxes and submit buttons, this tutorial covers how to add radio buttons and checkboxes to a form. Radio buttons can be useful for when a user is only allowed to select one option from a list of items, while checkboxes can be used to allow users to select multiple (or no) items from a list of them. In order to add radio buttons and checkboxes to our webpages, we can still use the "input" tag and the "type" attribute, but instead of using a type of "text" or "password", we can use either "radio" or "checkbox" to create radio buttons or checkboxes. Contact Form 7 Tutorial - Create a 2-Column Responsive Form With Contact Form 7 | CF7 Tuts Part 4

Contact Form 7 Tutorial - Create a 2-Column Responsive Form With Contact Form 7 Check out https://happyforms.me/ , it's a cool new form builder that you may like better than CF7 (and it's free!): HappyForms.me Exclusive for WPLearningLab viewers, up to 50% off hosting: https://wplearninglab.com/wordpress-hosting-offer/ Putting the contact form code into the YouTube description didn't make sense because YouTube doesn't allow pointy brackets, which there are a lot of in this code. So instead, you can find it here: https://wplearninglab.com/contact-form-7-2-column-responsive-form Below are the CSS styles I mention in the video: /*--- 2 Column Form Styles Start ---*/ #left { width: 47%; float: left; margin-right:6%; } #right { width: 47%; float: left; } .clearfix:after { content:"\0020"; display:block; height:0; clear:both; visibility:hidden; overflow:hidden; margin-bottom:10px; } .clearfix { display:block; } /*--- 2 Column Form Styles End ---*/ With over 1 million active downloads, the Contact Form 7 (https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/) plugin by Takayuki Miyoshi is one of the most popular contact form plugins around. And for good reason. It makes contact forms a breeze. In this Contact Form 7 tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a 2-column Responsive form using Contact Form 7. They key to creating a contact form using Contact Form 7 with two columns is the use of HTML Div tags and CSS floats. A regular WordPress contact form is nice, but the two columns really adds a bit of polish. First things first, if you haven't installed Contact Form 7 yet, let's do that. To install this plugin please log into your WordPress dashboard, hover over Plugins and then click on Add New. On the next page type "Contact Form 7" into the search bar. The plugin we want should be the first one in the top left. Click on the Install Now button and then click Activate after it's installed. It will add a new menu item in the left hand admin menu called Contact Form. Hover over that click on Add New. You will taken to the new form creator. First enter a name for your contact form and then paste the HTML form code into the form editor. Next, click on the Mail tab to customize the email that is generated when the form is submitted. Make sure you add all of the available fields that are at the top of the Mail tab. Watch the video to see how to do this in detail. When you're done, click on Save Changes. Next, we need to add this form to a page. After saving a blue bar will appear at the top of the form editor. Inside that blue bar is the shortcode for your form. Copy that code. Now go to Pages, then Add New to create a new page OR find the page where your contact form needs to live. Inside the page editor paste the shortcode and click on Update to save the page. When you view the page, you will see a 1 column form. Now it's time to make it 2-column and responsive using CSS. Back inside the WordPress admin find a place where you can add custom CSS. Your theme may have a special spot in the Theme Options section or you may have a code insert plugin or you may have a plugin that allows you to add CSS directly to specific pages. However it is that you add CSS, do that. Just paste in the CSS and save. As long as you didn't change the HTML, your contact form 7 will now be 2 column responsive! And that's how easy it is to create a contact form WordPress. I hope this information helps you! jQuery add event handler to dynamically created element

09:15
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/04/jquery-add-event-handler-to-dynamically.html In this video we will discuss, how to add event handlers to dynamically created elements. Let us understand this with an example. The following example, allows us to dynamically create new list item (li), attach a click event handler and add it to the unordered list (ul). This happens when you click "Add a New List Item" button. The problem with this approach is that we are binding a click event handler to every list item. This means if you have 500 list items, then there will be 500 event handlers in the memory and this may negatively affect the performance of your application. <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('li').on('click', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('#btnAdd').on('click', function () { var newListItem = $('<li>New List Item</li>').on('click', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('ul').append(newListItem); }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <input id="btnAdd" type="button" value="Add a New List Item" /> <ul> <li>List Item</li> <li>List Item</li> </ul> </body> </html> A better way of doing the same from a performance standpoint is shown below. In this example, the click event handler is attached to the listitem (li) parent element (ul). Even if you have 500 list items, there is only one click event handler in memory. So how does this work 1. When you click on a list item (li), the event gets bubbled up to its parent (ul) as the list item (li) does not have an event handler 2. The bubbled event is handled by the the parent (ul) element, as it has a click event handler. 3. When a new list item is added dynamicaly, you don't have to add the click event handler to it. Since the newly created list item (li) is added to the same parent element (ul), the click event of this list item also gets bubbled upto the same parent and will be handled by it. <html> <head> <title></title> <script src="jquery-1.11.2.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $('ul').on('click', 'li', function () { $(this).fadeOut(500); }); $('#btnAdd').on('click', function () { $('ul').append('<li>New List Item</li>'); }); }); </script> </head> <body style="font-family:Arial"> <input id="btnAdd" type="button" value="Add a New List Item" /> <ul> <li>List Item</li> <li>List Item</li> </ul> </body> </html>
