Chiang Mai: A Guide to Traveling in Thailand
https://www.expedia.com/Chiang-Mai.d890.Destination-Travel-Guides View our city guide video to see what it’s like to travel to Thailand. The city of Chiang Mai has it all, from peaceful temples to enthralling bazaars. As the largest city in Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai packs in a lot. There’s no shortage of adventure in this city surrounded by mountains and dotted with temples. While there is certainly a lot to see and sample, Chiang Mai is considered a slightly sleepier, quieter town than its southern neighbor, Bangkok. Chiang Mai takes great pride in retaining its traditions. The city’s spirituality remains a significant element of the Thai culture, and the town’s countless temples help keep its religious values alive. During your adventure in this part of Thailand, make a stop at the Wat Phra That on top of Doi Suthep. Built in 1383, the sacred temple was inspired by a local legend about a white elephant carrying a relic. While visiting the shrines, take a minute to soak up the sweeping views of Chiang Mai from the top of the Doi. Don’t stop at just one temple, though; there are hundreds of others located in and around Chiang Mai. Exploring the markets is another way to get a taste of the Thai culture, and you’ll find some great eats at North Gate, South Gate, and Marorot Market, among countless others. The night markets, Chiang Mai Night Bazaar in particular, are exceptional places to sample the local fare and mingle with the locals. Slurp up some noodles and nosh on some stir-fried dishes, or brave something you’ve never tried before—crickets and mealworms, anyone? Along with authentic grub, you’ll find touristy souvenirs, home goods, clothing, and various other goods at this market, too. Looking to discover more things to do in Chiang Mai? Consider visiting the Thai Elephant Conservation Center. This sanctuary includes a hospital that helps rehabilitate elephants that have been abused or injured. Take a tour of the facility to see elephants taking baths, painting with their trunks, and giving rides. A trip to this organization will provide insight into conservation efforts and scientific studies of these gentle giants. When the travel bug starts to bite, consider a trip to Thailand. Our travel guide video gives a sneak peek into the captivating Chiang Mia tours available, from temples to markets. Check out our clip and start packing for a romp in Southeast Asia. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Expedia Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/expedia Instagram: http://instagram.com/expedia Pinterest: http://www.pinterest.com/Expedia/ Google+: https://plus.google.com/+Expedia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: http://viewfinder.expedia.com/

The MOST INSANE Street Food in Thailand!
Most unbelievable Thai street food in Bangkok! ►Watch GIANT Tom Yum: https://youtu.be/4eZbr5qDxio ►SUBSCRIBE for 2 new videos per week: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►T-shirts and caps available now: https://migrationology.com/store/ Talad Rot Fai (ตลาดนัดรถไฟ), also known as the Train night market in Bangkok, or Talad Rot Fai in Thai, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok - this branch located at Ratchada. Here’s a map link: https://goo.gl/maps/EVKBg2ws46t By the way, this is Part 2 of this Night Market Thai street food tour. You can watch the gigantic tom yum challenge here: https://youtu.be/4eZbr5qDxio The market is known for its unique Thai street food, some of the snacks and dishes which are invented there and you won’t find anywhere else in Bangkok. Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) at Diaw Maekhlong Restaurant (ร้านเตี๋ยวแม่กลอง) - Laeng saeb, a dish of pork bones and ridiculous amounts of green chilies is one of the most popular Thai street food inventions at Talad Rot Fai, and this is mainly what I came to eat. The restaurant is located at the back of the market, and they have a few different sizes you can choose from. XXL Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) - Price - 599 THB ($18.96) - We went straight for the XXL size, a massive platter of pork bones, soup, insane amounts of green chilies and the soup broth. Of all the Thai street food I’ve eaten, this is one of the most unbelievable and insanely giant street foods of Thailand I’ve ever seen or eaten. Although it’s way more than I ever care to eat again in one sitting, it’s actually a really good dish. Crispy butter (เนยกรอบ) - 35 THB ($1.11) Stir fried ice cream (ไอติมผัด) - 69 THB ($2.18) Coconut shake (น้ำมะพร้าวปั่น) - 35 THB ($1.11) And that completed this Thai street food night market tour of Talad Rot Fai. It’s well worth a visit, and you can of course, order smaller sizes of laeng saeb when you’re in Bangkok. Enjoy! By watching this video, you are on the right track to understanding Thai Culture! We are here to give you the most important Do’s and don’ts in Thailand. In this video we explain you 10 do's and don'ts for when you are visiting Thailand! These cultural tips will get you started when you just arrive in Thailand or your trip to Asia. Co van Kessel Bangkok tours guide by Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours. www.covankessel.com * Looking for an authentic and unique adventure? Co van Kessel bike tours and boat tours provides a refreshing alternative to the tired tourist experience. We do not battle the crowds at clichéd destinations promoted in guide books, but turn your attention to quaint local communities and charming excursions into the fascinating lifestyle and culture of real Thai people. Every day is different and every tour is a surprise as we focus not on destinations, but lose ourselves in the enchantment of the journey itself. Co van Kessel, an innovative and adventurous Dutchman, pioneered bicycle tours in Bangkok more than 30 years ago. As a longtime resident and self-professed lover of Bangkok, he understood very well the picture of accelerated urban development (gridlocked traffic, concrete towers, and choking pollution) that has plagued the recent image of the city. He also had a hunch that this was not what Bangkok or Thailand was all about. Making it his goal to re-discover Bangkok, Co spent thousands of hours on his mountain bike exploring the vast network of local streets, alleyways, footpaths and canals between the main urban thoroughfares. What he found, lurking behind the facade of modernization, were hidden worlds of peace and tranquility, a picture of “real” Thai life that has remained unchanged for countless decades; an identity of a city that is true to the Thai people, yet largely unknown to outsiders. Whether it’s the colorful sights and smells of the local markets, the fascinating life of locals along the canals, or the surprising existence of bountiful green belts, Co discovered the essence of what makes Bangkok one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Since then, it has been his mission to share these discoveries with the rest of the world. What we do Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co’s extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will. We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge. Bicycles, boats, and our feet become the tools we use to gain access to the previously inaccessible, behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Here the roots of an ancient culture will become evident in a way you never could have imagined. www.covankessel.com Join us on Social Media https://www.facebook.com/covankessel https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractio... https://www.instagram.com/covankessel/ https://twitter.com/covankessel This video was recorded at Wat Pho, with a filming agreement licensed to Co van Kessel Bangkok Tours.

A Trip to Thai Immigration - Take a Look Inside
Today I took a trip out to Chaengwattana Road to get my re-entry permit at the Thai Immigration Department. Fortunately, there weren't nearly as many people as there is sometimes. This video provides a look inside Thai Immigration. As an expat living in Thailand since 1996, Scott Mallon has worked as a photojournalist, been inside both Bang Kwang and Klong Prem Prisons, lost months at a time partying the days and nights away, been hospitalized several times, been near death once, fought in Muay Thai, managed a world-rated championship boxer, trained professional boxers, been thrown in jail, and fathered two children. Somehow, through it all, he's managed to remain married to the same Thai woman. You'll get the good, the bad, and the ugly from someone who has lived here - really lived. No touristy fluff, no backpacker BS, no illusions of grandeur, only the truth as An American in Bangkok sees it. These are a few rules, or suggestions I have put together for anyone, especially men, who plan to take a vacation to Pattaya, Thailand. If you follow these simple rules, I can guarantee they will minimize your problems. Never tell anyone how much money you make Forget the three-date rule Never take someone you don't know to you place of residence Use the electronic safe in the room. It is there for a reason! Pattay's ecosystem is made to take your money. Know that going into your vacation, and you will have already won a small victory. Vacation in Hua Hin, Thailand
We take a trip to beautiful Hua Hin, Thailand to relax under the sun. We stay at a hotel by the main town, and visit a local night market. The night market was filled with beautiful art work, goods, and street performers. Our favorite part of the trip was taking a swim in the swimming pool. Hua Hin- is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Thailand, in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Once a quiet fishing village, it grew into a fashionable escape for residents of Bangkok after the 1920s, Subscribe https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZCZs96hnzrIxoBr5QRM-Kg?sub_confirmation=1 Support: https://www.patreon.com/bangkokbound Facebook: https://web.facebook.com/bangkokbound/ Instagram: Bkk_Bound

Volunteer Trip To Thailand
We went where?? Subscribe: https://alisonprince.com/tv and did what!?! And how did we afford to take 6 humans to the other side of the world? Whaaa....you live an experience, but when it's put into a video you get to relive the moments over and over again, and it's so full of emotion it almost overwhelms me. Kinda cool how technology allows us to do that. This summer we 👨🏻👩🏻👧🏻👧🏻👦🏼👦🏼spent time in Thailand volunteering, and I decided to wait until now to put this video together to remind me what life is about during this crazed rushed time. I interviewed my kids on what they thought about volunteering in this school, and I'll let you watch to hear what they said. I think the biggest thing for me was that we thought we were going to teach these kids. BUT We left knowing they were the ones who taught us. It was more than we could have ever asked for. I have found my kids over the last few months wanting less and being more appreciative. Will it last? I don't know. I hope so. Maybe...I'll make them watch this video as a reminder on a monthly basis. Makayla and Bridges have wanted to just 'hang out' with us as a family more vs. going out with friends. Um...they are teens, and they still like hanging out us! Whaaa!?! I'll take that as a win. Now, this all sounds pretty and beautiful, but I'll tell you there was the jet lag, the bug bites, the sour stomachs, the bucket shower, and the beds on the floor... BUT...I'd do it again in a heartbeat because of what we learned and where we are now at as a family. I'd just remember to take anti-itch cream and a heck of a lot more bug spray...oh and a big fat stash of candy to hand out to the kids. Chris at Pomelo Travel made this happen for us. Look him up. He's a young guy that knows the world pretty well. It's not easy to find a volunteer trip that allows for little kids to pitch in too. Now to the nitty gritty... How do we afford to take a trip like this with 6 humans? Flying them to the other side of the world? Taking off weeks of work? Paying for the concrete we helped pour at the school? The camera to film the video? The answer: We have started our own businesses. Businesses change lives. How do we know? Because it's changed ours. We used to live in the paycheck to paycheck world. I was a teacher... and I loved it BUT in the same breath I can say that getting my first check and hearing that I qualified for food stamps was a slap in my face. I knew things had to change. I wanted more out of life than a small check and fell into this e-commerce world. E-commerce (selling products online) has changed our financial lives to allow us to have the freedom to travel and experience another world. Jared and I decided that we wanted to teach our kids about business too. We wanted them to have the freedom to be who they want to be in this life without the pressure of money deciding who they will or won't be. So...We decided to give them the opportunity to build a business. Long story short...at 10 and 13-year-old. These two squirts sold over 21,000 scarves in 9 months. Pst...here's a hit. That was more than 6 figures. They did this while they were in school trying to figure out how to open lockers and braid their hair. I've had numerous people ask me if I would teach them too...so I did and they hit that 6 figure mark too. Being a teacher, I thought if I could do it, teach my girls could do it, and then teach a handful of others to do it too...then I knew it was time for me to teach this even more. So I started this last March and have been teaching many people how to do this same thing. The results are mindboggling. People are starting from zero and growing brands and building cash they never dreamed possible. It comes down to 3 main things to make this happen and I want to share with you! I break it down into 3 secrets that helped them get to this magical 6 figure number. I teach it here: https://0-100k.com/auto-webinar-registration-17453276 Get over there and make your 2018 the year to live your dreams...and have the funds to support them!

No trip to Chiang Mai is complete without taking a traditional Thai Cooking Class! Todays trip is all thanks to the best Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai, Thai Secret Cooking School - be sure to check them out to book your cooking class here: www.chiang-mai-cooking-school.com Before we drove out to the farm in the rice paddies, the morning started with a trip to a traditional Thailand local market to buy the ingredients for the class. We then cooked a feast of Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Penang Curry, Chicken Coconut soup, Mango Sticky Rice - all prepared ourselves by making the curry paste and shredding the coconut. The reason we think this is the best cooking school in Chiang Mai city is partly due to the owner, operator and instructor, May. She was hilarious, informative and so lovely the whole day - just watch the video and you'll see how much of a joy she is, it's that special touch that makes the whole cooking class so much fun. On 16th September 2015, I went to Bangkok, Thailand with 5 of my friends (Germaine, Azriel, Eloy, Cherlyn & Cheryl)! It was the first time ever for me to travel alone with just friends! So it actually felt quite adventurous. Luckily we have Azriel & Cheryl who have been to Bangkok before or else we would have spent a lot more time figuring out where to go. There were many places and moments that were not recorded but the trip was really damn fun! Hope you enjoy the video! We stayed in iCheck Inn Residence Sathorn, it was a great place! Only thing bad is that it is not near to any shopping mall or tourist attractions (about 3 BTS stops away from Siam) but we got it at a very low price! Give and take, you know! If you have any questions about Bangkok, you can ask me or my friends (links are below) or simply go research before going on to your own trip to Bangkok. There are many places we didn't get the chance to go, maybe the next time I go I will record it down again and show you guys! There are some shops that we have been to in Chatuchak Weekend Market that I think I should mentioned because of the affordable items or their good service! Fufa Shop: Section 26 (https://facebook.com/Fufashop.bags) The Nick: Section 21 Soi 4 (Selling Nike & Adidas apparels) Massage Air-conditioned: Around Section 21/22 (One of the few air-conditioned massage there) Thai Milk Tea: Section 27 (cheap milk tea for a HUGE cup) Union Mall: Level 4 there is this restaurant selling noodles for 12 baht ONLY! The waiter is damn funny! There are also cheap clothes selling there! Do you research before going to Bangkok! Research on Siam Night Market, Palladium Night Market, Rot Fai Market and many more! All scams begin and proceed in more or less the same way. The scammer begins by pruning you with a barrage of what you think are rather innocent questions. But you think wrong! Thai Street Food: Trying the Food at a Fair in Thailand, Part 2. Eating Thai Food in Krabi Thailand.
NEW THAILAND FOOD AND TRAVEL VIDEOS EVERY WEDNESDAY. Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/darrenb3. Thai Street Food & Shopping at a Fair in Thailand. Trying the Food at a Fair in Krabi Thailand, Part 2. This was a festival my family and I went to recently in Krabi Thailand. We went along to try some of the amazing street food and Thai desserts on offer there. The festival was for Loy Krathong and was typical of Thai fairs: loads of food, amusements & sideshows and shopping. I uploaded this video in 2 parts. This is Part 2 and you can see Part 1 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVFgcJ7QN34 Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/darrenb3 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/youtube.darrenb3/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thailandvideos/ Donate to help me make more videos: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business=ESL6RHW9ERZ8W&lc=AU&item_name=darrenb3%20Thailand%20Videos&currency_code=USD&bn=PP%2dDonationsBF%3abtn_donateCC_LG%2egif%3aNonHosted Thai street food is everywhere in Thailand. It’s cheap and it is really delicious! All the food is cooked fresh as the vendors sell it, and as I mentioned, it is delicious! It’s some of my favourite Thai cuisine, and there is so much variety of street food in Thailand! Thai Street Food is a must to try if you’re on holidays in Thailand and there’s loads of street food in throughout Thailand, both in Bangkok and in the areas! There are so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods are cheap, and so tasty! A lot of Thai street food has been influenced by Chinese food, so chances are you're already familiar with many of the flavours. And in case you’re worried, eating street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it for 3 years in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand! The fairs in Thailand are a great place to get an insight into Thai culture while you travel in Thailand. They are open during the day and at night as night markets. You can shop alongside the locals and see what they buy and eat. Thai fairs and any festival in Thailand are great places to try traditional Thai street foods, learn Thai recipes and cooking, as well as eat some of the best Thai dishes in Thailand. You'll see the people cooking the food right in front of you. And best of all, the food is cheap, often much cheaper than eating in a Thai restaurant. Eating at fairs is a good way to eat cheap on your Thailand holidays. And be sure you check out some Thai Food Markets on your trip to Thailand, and be sure to sample some of the amazing Thai street food that's available there too. The food in Thailand is amazing! If you want to try some of the most delicious food in the world be sure to visit Thailand! Subscribe to my channel for more videos on what to do in Thailand and what to eat in Thailand. New Thailand videos posted every Wednesday about Thailand: places to see, things to do, tours, Thai food, Thailand markets, Thai festivals & culture, street food, Thai recipes, eating Thai food, hotels, resorts, villas, restaurants, Thailand holidays, tourism, accommodation & Thailand travel, including Phuket, Ao Nang, Krabi and other Thailand destinations. Krabi is about 2-3 hours from Phuket by land or sea, and has world class accommodation standards comparable to what you find in Phuket hotels and resorts, but in a more relaxed environment. If you're looking into Thailand Hotels have a look at hotels and resorts in Krabi. The islands and beaches of Krabi are famous for Thailand holidays, the movie The Beach was filmed on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi Island. I do not own the music in this video. Good for you, reading is really good for you. But, I think you should probably stop reading this and find something a little more intellectual. You know, a book or a magazine... something that will really get you thinking. Maybe Seventeen's issue with Cameron Dallas on the cover? Whatever you decide to do, have fun! See you next time :)

Open the door to Thailand - a journey to Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket
We absolutely love Thailand, so much so, we even got married there. And though we were recently on our seventh visit to this great country, we also adored discovering new places to go in Thailand on a recent project with Abercrombie & Kent and Thai Tourism. What's more, they are running a competition and you can win a trip there yourself. Enter here: http://bit.ly/2HfUFzw You can also read about all the things we love about Thailand here: https://livesharetravel.com/34241/places-to-go-in-thailand Thailand is not one thing to us. We love how it feels to be there - the sense of ease that sweeps over you when you arrive somewhere that you love enough for it to feel like home. Our hearts are filled with the joy of new friendships made over simple pleasures. We adore the head-spinning excitement and cacophony of Bangkok, as well as the more relaxed pace of its second city Chiang Mai. We soak up Thailand's verve and colour - from the blue of its skies and seas to the glittering glass and dazzling gold of its temples. We love devouring its food - from the simplest of dishes served up on the street to inventive creations delivered by South East Asia's most famous chefs. We throw ourselves into Thai adventures out on the ocean, while also taking time to enjoy peace and relaxation on its sandy shores in islands like Phuket. Let us show you around our favourite places to visit in Thailand, and some of the best things to do while you're there. You'll find all the inspiration you could need on the link above, plus the chance for you to put together your own perfect Thai break for two. Best of luck! Sarah & Terry PS: Don't miss the series of other videos we shot in the country recently. Check out the Discover Thailand playlist to see all the fun challenges we got up to, and much more from amazing Thailand.
