10:49
X-Men: Apocalypse is a 2016 American superhero film based on the fictional X-Men characters that appear in Marvel Comics. It is the ninth installment in the X-Men film series and is a sequel to 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past. Directed by Bryan Singer, with a screenplay by Simon Kinberg from a story conceived by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, the film stars an ensemble cast, led by James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, and Lucas Till. In X-Men: Apocalypse, the ancient mutant En Sabah Nur awakens in 1983, and plans to cleanse the human race and take over the world, leading the X-Men to try to stop him and defeat his team, the Four Horsemen of Apocalypse. The film was announced by Singer in December 2013, with Kinberg, Dougherty and Harris attached to develop the story. Casting began in October 2014, while principal photography commenced in April 2015 in Montreal, Canada, and ended in August of the same year. X-Men: Apocalypse premiered in London on May 9, 2016, and was released in North America on May 27, 2016, in 3D and 2D, and in IMAX 3D in select international markets however; released in India prior a week. The film received mixed reviews, with critics praising the acting, action scenes, humor, and visual effects, while criticizing the pacing, particularly the second half, as well as the overstuffed plot, villain, overabundance of characters, and familiarity of themes.

12 Angry Men -- Film Review #JPMN

04:28
12 Angry Men (1957) "Dozens of reasons to love", 9/10. Full episodes of Movie Night, every Friday night at: http://bit.ly/JogJPMN ~~ Movie Night ~~ This "Quick Review" is an excerpt from a full episode. Incorporating viewer comments and tweets, your host and film critic Jonathan Paula reviews everything from opening day releases, recent DVDs, and classics from years past. Along with your votes, these films are scored on the "Rate-O-Matic" for a 1-10 ranking. A "Five Word Summary" quickly encapsulates each review while "Factor Facts" highlight the the best and worst features of a movie in each of ten key categories. New episodes every Friday (November through May) on the JPizzle1122 channel. Born in February 1986, Jonathan Paula is a professional YouTuber and creator of the hit web series, "Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?". In April 2006 he founded Jogwheel Productions, a new media production company that specializes in web video. He has been reviewing films since 2003, and professionally since 2009. Jon graduated from Emerson College in 2008 with a degree in Television Production / Radio Broadcasting. He currently lives in Rockingham, NH with his wife Rebecca. ~~ Links ~~ Facebook ---------------- http://bit.ly/JonFBFan Twitter --------------------- http://bit.ly/JonTW Main Channel ----------- http://bit.ly/Jogwheel 2nd Channel ------------ http://bit.ly/JonWorld Movie Night Show ----- http://bit.ly/JogJPMN FAQ Video --------------- http://bit.ly/JogFAQv T-Shirts ------------------- http://bit.ly/JogStore ~~ Technical ~~ Created by ------ Jonathan Paula Camera ---------- Panasonic DVX-100b Microphone ----- Sennheiser ME 66 Software --------- Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Computer ------- http://bit.ly/JAV010 • Jogwheel Productions © 2012 • ~~ Review Script ~~ Released in April of 1957 on a budget of just three-hundred and fifty thousand dollars, this iconic courtroom drama shares the story of 12 jurors who must deliberate the verdict of a young accused murderer. Hollywood icon Sidney Lumet directed this now famous 96-minute movie that stars Henry Fonda, Lee Cobb, Jack Klugman, Ed Begley and many other titans from cinema's Golden Age. Unfolding in real-time, Fonda is the lone dissenter in a eleven to one vote in favor of a Guilty verdict. And slowly but surely, the 12 jurors re-examine the evidence, in an attempt to find enough reasonable doubt to rule for an acquittal. If that basic story sounds familiar, it's for good reason: dozens of films, TV shows, plays, have since adapted this story - everything from a early episode of The Simpsons to a recent Russian remake that was released in 2007. With such a minimalist approach, and rarely any substantial twists or surprises -- the entirety of "12 Angry Men" depends solely on the writing, and it's execution from the all-star cast. Luckily for history -- both are astonishingly impressive home-runs. The dialog is quick, engaging, thought-provoking, and incredibly entertaining. While the acting is nothing short of remarkable - with every actor given the chance to truly shine in the drab 16 by 24-foot jury room. The single issue I have with this black-and-white masterpiece is the unfortunately the premise itself: 12 Jurors take it upon themselves to conduct their own independent investigation, complete with dozens of wild assumptions and guess-work that realistically, has no place in any legal setting. Conveniently though, the rest of the movie's accomplishments make this plot-hole an easy one to overlook. Opening with a minutes-long shot that floats around the room from one conversation to another, the pace of the editing here speeds up only when the action between the characters dictates. Similarly, the focal distance is brilliantly, and slowly shortened as the film goes on: starting off with wide shots of the entire room, and finishing with entire sequences filmed entirely with extreme close-ups. This insular and tunneling approach by Lumet expertly narrows the movie's focus, making the emotional climax that much more inspiring and rewarding. A true testament to the very basic fundamentals of film-making, "12 Angry Men" delivers just as effectively today as it did nearly 50 years ago in the original Emmy-award winning teleplay in 1954. At 89-years-old, Juror #5, the Klugman, perhaps known best for his role in The Odd Couple is the lone surviving member of the cast, and was surprisingly slated to return to a New Jersey stage production of "12 Angry Men" *this* week, but sadly had to withdraw earlier this month for health reasons. This is a wonderfully beautiful film that everyone owes it to themselves to watch at least once -- which is why it's no surprise it's held a top-10 slot on IMDB's coveted "Most Popular" list for years. What is a surprise however is the lack of success the movie originally had, failing to win any of the Academy Awards it was nominated for. "12 Angry Men", "Dozens of reasons to love". ~

A Review of EVERY X-MEN MOVIE (Part 1)

13:04
This video took me so long to make, I have a huge beard now… For the release of Logan, I thought it would be the perfect time to re-watch the entire X-Men film series and give my thoughts on each of the movies. It turns out it was a bigger undertaking than I thought it would be, so I’ve divided it into two parts. In part one, I take a look at the first X-Men film (2000) through X-Men: First Class (2011). These consist of all the X-Men movies I’ve previously seen before. In part two, I’ll take a look at the rest of the series, which I had only recently watched for the first time to get ready for Logan. Let me know your thoughts on each of the movies. Do you have any fond memories watching some of these? I know the first X-Men was a huge nostalgia trip for me, so I’d like to hear what you guys have to say. And be sure to check in for part two in the next few days. Read what other critics had to say: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/x_men_apocalypse/ Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
